Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / August 2023

Celeste and I are bringing you a little bit of SPARKLE this month as we have coffee and make cards .. I had the perfect stamp from the August Release at Technique Junkies - Born To Sparkle . Since everything is always better with a bit of sparkle, we chose it as our theme !!

  • I started by using a Sunburst die from Gina Marie Designs and cutting it with a piece of gold glitter paper and a piece of white glitter paper.
  • The sunbursts were adhered to card bases - the gold to a red card base and the white to  kraft.
  • The sentiment - Born To Sparkle -  was stamped with Nautical Blue Memento ink  and then cut to fit across the card base .
  • I popped up the sentiment across both cards with foam tabs .
  • I placed a large faceted rhinestone with a Paris design at the center of the white starburst and a Butterfly rhinestone on the gold.

I love these cards .. The glitter paper I used doesn't leave glitter all over the place which is a win in my guy's book .. He is NOT a fan of the sparkle !! Let's take a look at how Celeste is sparkling this month - you can see her card over at Crafting Junky .

My birthday is this month so I gave myself permission to buy a new cup without having to recycle one I already have . Plus this was 30% off at my local Starbucks !! I love everything mermaid and this really is gorgeous .Hard to tell but it's even sparkly at the bottom.  I'm drinking McDonald's Toffee Almond Iced Coffee today while I work on this post. Delicious !!

As we wind down summer, I am excitedly looking forward to cooler months. Sweater weather is my favorite time of year ..  And after all of our 100+ degree days, I promise not to complain when it is cold outside.  Well, at least not out loud !!

Thanks again for visiting Meticulosity ..
Until next time, Stay Creative

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / August 2023

It's time for the August edition of Crafty Elves and this month we have a special Guest Elf. Shalana Glass is a member of the Design Team of Technique Junkies with me and Michael. She makes such amazing cards that are so vibrant and colorful !! We are excited to see what she creates ..

For my card this month, I chose the gorgeous new collection from Prima Marketing - Christmas Market . I used the Joyful Ephemera, the Chipboard and the 8x8 Paper pad.

  • On a 5x7 Kraft card base, I adhered a piece of striped paper from the Christmas Market collection .
  • I placed a thin strip of light turquoise glitter washi across the Bingo card and adhered it on the bottom right side of the card base.
  • The chipboard pieces - tree, envelope, Special Delivery and 25 -were then adhered to the card base .
  • The Santa ephemera was placed on  the card base with foam tape for added dimension.
  • The skier  was adhered on top of the Bingo card .
  • Rhinestones were placed on 3 squares of the Bingo card - green , red and crystal.

It's rare that I make a card without any stamping but this collection is so gorgeous that I didn't need to add anything else . Do you make many cards like this ??  I can't wait to make a few more for my holiday stash .

Take a peek at the other creations by Michael, Lisa, and Shalana at the links below . Misty is taking a break and we hope to se her back soon .

Hard to believe that it is only 4 months until Christmas !! We are still having close to 100 degree days here and I am SO ready for sweater weather  .. I promise not to complain when I have to bundle up .  Have you started your holiday cards yet ?? I have even addressed a few so I am feeling a bit proud of myself .. Thank you for stopping by . We are thrilled that Shalana joined us this month to help us inspire you ahead of the holidays !!

We will see you next month  - until then Stay Creative.

He Made It/She Made It - August 2023

Michael Trent and I became friends through our love of coffee and card-making. We are now on the Design Team of Technique Junkies together . Though 4,518 miles separate us - he is in Brazil and I am in Virginia - we love talking about the cards we are creating . It's interesting to see how we each interpret a stamped image in our own unique way - sometimes similar, sometimes very different. And that is how this idea was born - each month we will choose a stamp/stamp set from the latest Technique Junkies release and create with it . We will then show you what she made ( me, Debra ) and what he made ( Michael ).

This month we chose
Creative Background . This is a fabulous background that was really fun to create with . Let's see what I made and then I will post a link to Michael's blog so you can see what he made !!

  • I first inked the Painted Background stamp with Memento Dew Drop inks -  Dandelion, Bamboo Leaves, Summer Sky and Angel Pink . I then stamped it on a piece of white cardstock.
  • The Creative Background stamp was then stamped over the colorful background with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink .
  • The stamped background was adhered to a turquoise card base .
  • I colored a few areas of the stamped image with my COPICS.
  • A piece of scrap patterned paper was placed across the stamped image, a few inches from the bottom.
  • Two pale green rhinestones were adhered on the left side of the patterned strip.
  • CREATE was then positioned next to the rhinestones, using glittery turquoise letters .

Each month, Michael and I will choose a new release Technique Junkies stamp and put our creative spin on it !! Check out what Michael has created for August at his blog -World of Michael Trent . I'm very excited to be starting this collaboration with Michael  /Technique Junkies . What do you think of our new "partnership" ?  I can't wait to see what we choose for next month !!

You can find all the August Release stamps HERE .
Creative Background is just 1 of 12 new designs to choose from ..
We will be back in September.. Until then, Happy Stamping !!!

Technique Junkies August Stamp Release

It's time for another fabulous stamp release from Technique Junkies today . You can check out all 12 stamps HERE - there is a wide variety, including Nature, Pets, Coffee, Creative and Snarky !! Remember that all individual August Release stamps will be 15% off ( no code needed ) through  August 8 . Or if you feel the need to get the entire August Release, it is available at a special price during the same time period. For all other items, remember to use my code - TJ10Deb - for a 10% discount.

This post wasn't intended to have a "house" theme, but it seemed like the thing to do when I was looking over which projects to use for the August Release today . The Leaves and Butterflies stamp seemed perfect to use as an ATC background . It was also perfect timing since I'm doing an ATC swap with a friend !!

Dream & Happy

  • I stamped the Leaves and Butterflies image on white cardstock with Bamboo Leaves, Teal Zeal and Sweet Plum Memento Dew Drop inks.
  • I used my ATC card dies to cut out the cards, with extras cut out on plain cardstock for layering .
  • A strip of washi tape was adhered to the top of each ATC.
  • I added some Simple Stories chipboard houses and flowers to each scene .
  • Typewriter word stickers were placed on each ATC.
  • Metallic dots were placed on the pink gingham washi and the blue house .

For my next project, I used a pair of stamps from the Inside Out : Twisted Encouragement stamp set . This set includes 5 fun stamp pairings of sentiments for inside and outside of your card . Or be a rebel like me and put them BOTH on the outside !!

  • I cut a piece of house- themed paper to match the WIFI theme of the stamps I was using.
  • Pieces of yellow-patterned paper from the same paper pad was adhered to the top of a powder blue card base and a pale yellow card base.
  • The house paper was adhered below the yellow paper on the card bases.
  • The sentiments were stamped in Nautical Blue Memento ink .
  • On the pale yellow card, I added a chipboard button to each side of the "Be Strong" sentiment .
So, do you see how I unintentionally ended up with a house theme ?? It seemed only right that I post these 2 projects on Day 1 of the August Release . Do you have a favorite stamp from this new release ?? There is no way I could pick a favorite - I really do love them all !!

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / July 2023

It's time for the Crafty Elves to celebrate Christmas in July !! Hallmark holiday movies, Christmas in July sales, creating our holiday card lists and making cards to send. We've been getting a head start on our Christmas / Holiday cards all year long and we're happy to see you here to get some inspiration for yours !!

For my card, I chose a fantastic Technique Junkies stamp Perfect Blend  . I love everything about this stamp - the glass cup, the cinnamon stick the sentiment and that cursive font !! AND that scarf is just the cutest .. This could be a lovely cup of Chai Tea for the holidays or a cup of my favorite Gingerbread Coffee  - each with a cinnamon stick added . So whether you are a tea or coffee lover ( or even hot cocoa ) , this card is for you !! You need to add this stamp to your collection ..

  • I stamped the Perfect Blend  image onto a piece of Mixed Media paper . The sentiment was stamped with Lady Bug Memento ink and the cup with Tuxedo Black Memento ink .
  • A piece of vintage patterned holiday paper was adhered to a brilliant red card base.
  • The stamped image was colored with my COPICS .
  • I matted the stamped panel with red textured cardstock .
  • The completed stamped panel was adhered to the vintage paper with foam tabs .
  • I highlighted a few areas on the cup with some Clear Wink of Stella .

You can find the Perfect Blend image over at Technique Junkies , along with many other wonderful stamps . Do a little holiday shopping for yourself and save 10% with my code - TJ10Deb .

Glorious Karma

I love the Inside Out stamp sets from Technique Junkies !! I usually write a note inside the cards I send to people , sometimes on a Post-It so they can send it along to someone else. So when a stamp set has a sentiment for the outside AND the inside, it's a WIN-WIN. No worrying about what to write, perfect for the occasion you choose.  The new Inside Out : Karma set from the July Release has some of the best sayings ever !! Just what you need to send a card to one of your snarky friends !!

  • I used one of my many hoarded 6x6 paper pads for this mini-slimline card .
  • A sheet of 6x6 paper was folded in half to make a card base.
  • I stamped the outside sentiment on a piece of Carta Bella "Summer" paper, cut it to fit and adhered it to the front of the card base.
  • Several enamel dots were placed on the front of the card .
  • The inside sentiment was stamped and an enamel dot placed at the top left.
Are you a lover of "snarky" cards ? I know that I am and couldn't wait to create with these stamps. I'll be making cards with all of the sayings included in this set. Take a look at all of the July Release stamps - I'm sure you will find something that sparks your creativity. Along with all of the other stamps and supplies that Technique Junkies has to offer .. And if you use my code - TJ10Deb - you can save 10%  on your order ..

Coffee and Cards with Deb and Celeste - July 2023

Can you believe there are only 5 months until Christmas ?!?!?! With our weather being in the high 90's daily, I'm not sure cooler weather will EVER get here !!  So I turned on some holiday music as I made my card today because our theme this month is CHRISTMAS IN JULY ..  Have you started on your holiday cards yet ??

I used a fun stamp from Miss Ink Stamps for my card today . And right now, this Deck the Halls stamp is on sale !! They have a variety of great holiday stamps ..

  • I stamped the Deck the Halls image on a piece of  white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The image was colored with my COPICS and also highlighted with a Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Star pen .
  • The sentiment from the Deck the Halls stamp set was stamped with Memento Lady Bug ink .
  • I trimmed down a 5X7 Kraft card base and adhered a piece of holiday chalkboard-patterned paper to it.
  • I matted the stamped image with a piece of green paper and adhered that to the completed card base .

I'm looking forward to seeing what Celeste has created as we get in the holiday spirit.. You can see her card here at her blog - Crafting Junky .  My coffee today is a Carrot Cake Cappuccino that I'm drinking out of a Christmas Carol cup I found on clearance after the holidays last year !!

Thank you for stopping by Meticulosity ..
Until next time, Stay Creative
