Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste & a Crafty Elf / February 2024

Today is the day that Lisa and I post our holiday cards each month .  And since I had some new supplies that tied in with the theme that Celeste and I are using for our February Blog collaboration, I decided to combine my ideas. Celeste and I chose Mail Art / Snail Mail as our theme for February - one of my favorite themes ever !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste - Mail Art / Snail Mail

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas

I used some absolutely gorgeous paper and ephemera for my cards   today. They are from the Echo Park Paper Company Letters To Santa  collection. The colors in this collection are so vibrant and each paper design is more beautiful than the next !!  I couldn't decide which paper to use for my card so I created 2 cards !!

  • I stamped the letterbox from the Stamped With Love set by Stampin' Up. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink on red cardstock and white cardstock.
  • I fussy-cut the letterboxes from the red cardstock and then cut the envelopes from the white .
  • The envelopes were adhered onto the red letterboxes and then a red sparkly heart was placed on each envelope.
  • I used a Pierced Chain Rectangle Die to cut some mats for the letterboxes.
  • I cut the patterned papers to fit my 5x7 Kraft card bases and adhered them to each card.
  • The die cut rectangles were adhered towards the top of each card .
  • I placed the letterboxes on each die cut rectangle with foam tabs.
  • Ephemera sentiments from the Letters To Santa collection were placed at the bottom of each card.
I'm excited to see what Celeste and Lisa have created. You can see Lisa's projects  here at Life of a BZscrapper and Celeste's over at her blog - Crafting Junky .It was nice to combine my post with Lisa and Celeste this month. It's been a hectic month here and I'm relaxing and enjoying a cup of Vanilla Macadamia Nut Coffee in a fun new cup I found on clearance at Joann's. I could almost resist it until I saw the pretty green gingham pattern inside the cup !! AND the mushroom and frog are raised off the mug - so cute ..

Thank you for stopping by to  see my latest holiday creation . Have you started on yours ?? Make a nice cup of coffee or tea and create some for your stash .

Until next time, Stay Creative

Nurses Are Angels

One of the new release stamps from Technique Junkies for February is  Nurses Are Angels . I have been an RN since 1984 and spent most of my career in Intensive Care Units. I absolutely loved taking care of my patients and also their families - it is a rewarding,  challenging and many times heartbreaking profession.  I'm no longer in direct patient care,  now looking forward to retirement I certainly don't see myself as an angel - I just hope that the care I've given to others has made a positive impact and made a scary situation a little less traumatic for my patients and their loved ones..

  • I stamped the Nurses Are Angels image on white mixed-media paper with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub ink .
  • The stamped image was die-cut with a square scalloped die.
  • I adhered a piece of pink polka-dot patterned paper to a white card base.
  • A strip of paper was trimmed from a piece of patterned paper and adhered at the bottom of the polka-dot paper as a border.
  • Red rhinestones were placed in the center of every other flower on the border.
  • The completed stamped image was adhered to the card with foam tabs.

This is just one of 13 new stamps from Technique Junkies this month . You can save 10% when you shop with my code - TJ10Deb . Be kind to yourself and take time to create !!

Sisters

I grew up in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania . I had one brother who was 6 years older than me. My mother had 9 brothers and sisters, so there were lots of cousins who lived nearby that I saw quite often. My best friend was from a large Italian family too - she had 9 younger brothers and sisters.  But I always wished for a sister of my own ; had a picture in my head of a wonderful relationship with someone who just would get me, love me and my quirky side no matter what .. When I saw this Sister Therapy stamp from the latest Technique Junkies Release, it took me back to my childhood when I wanted to have a sister so very badly !! And I could also hear my mom's voice telling me - "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it ." LOL  I made this card for my friend Xenia to send to her sister in New York . I asked her their favorite colors ( black and gray !!! )  . And then I also used my favorite color - RED . I hope they both like it as much as I enjoyed making it.

  • I stamped the Sister Therapy image with 3 colors of Memento ink - Black Tuxedo, Gray Flannel and Lady Bug -  on white Mixed-Media paper.
  • I cut a piece of red patterned paper to fit an A2 card and adhered it to a pink card base.
  • The Sister Therapy image was die-cut with a Rectangle Swirl die.
  • I cut a strip of black patterned paper to fit lengthwise down the red paper and adhered it to the left side of the card.
  • The Sisters image was popped up on the card base with foam tabs.
  • Small red pearls were placed on the strip of black paper.

Don't forget that all of the new February Release stamps are 15% off through February 8. No code is needed for that . AND if you use my code - TJ10Deb - you can get  10% off all other supplies . So if you have a sister, have ever wanted a sister or have a friend who is just like a sister, you NEED this stamp !! I absolutely love it 💓

Thanks for stopping by . I always appreciate it .
Until next time, Stay Creative !!

Technique Junkies Stamp Release / February 2024

The Technique Junkies February Release is full of 13 wonderful new stamp sets !! Fun stamps for the background lover, cat lover, sentiment hoarder and animal lover - just to name a few . There is something for everyone !!

I've combined 2 of the new releases - Greek Tapestry and African Proverbs - to create a Valentine for a friend. When I first looked at the Greek Tapestry stamp, I wondered what I could do with that background.  Should I just use it as a card front ?? Then as I continued to look at it after I had stamped it, I realized that the gorgeous heart would make a beautiful Valentine for a friend.

  • I stamped the Greek Tapestry image on cream cardstock with Cranberry Fizz  ink from Catherine Pooler.
  • The heart was fussy-cut from the stamped panel.
  • I adhered a piece of scrap wood-patterned paper to a red card base.
  • The sentiment was stamped on a piece of gray patterned paper that already had the heart on it . Perfect !!
  • I adhered the fussy-cut heart to the center of the card .
  • The sentiment from African Proverbs was adhered near the bottom of the heart with foam tabs.
This stamp can be used in a variety of ways - as a beautiful background or by fussy-cutting or die-cutting certain areas.  As always, new release stamps are 15% off - NO CODE REQUIRED - through the 8th of the month . My code - TJ10Deb - will get you 10% off  everything else . Or if you just gotta have them all,  you can get a special price  over on the Technique Junkies  website.
