Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / and Michael - June 2026

Michael Trent is back once again to create with us  / all the way from Cosmopolis, Brazil  . We are in the middle of a heat wave here in Virginia Beach so it's nice to just stay indoors and make cards !!  This month, I wanted to use stencils . I have SO many that I have never inked up . It was about time to get them out and have some fun with them ! Now the only problem is deciding which ones to use .. I finally decided on a few snarky sentiments to go with a favorite Ink Road stamp .

  • I stamped the Night FAFO image from Ink Road stamps twice - once on white cardstock and again on a marbled watercolor piece of scrap paper.
  • The sentiments were stenciled on each panel - Love Letter Memento ink was used on the white panel and Tuxedo Blak Memento ink on the marbled panel.
  • I used the Sarcasm stencil from A Colorful Life Designs .
  • I matted the white panel with turquoise cardstock and adhered that to a black card base .
  • The marbled panel was matted with pink cardstock and applied to a lavender hombre card base with foam tabs.

I was an overachiever this time and created another card too . The Snarky Coffee Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was paired with a Unity Stamp Company stamp set - Tricia Girl .

For some added inspiration on how to use your stencils, check out Celeste and Michael's posts at these links .

Celeste - Stamping Junky

This month I'm drinking Caramel Pecan coffee from a favorite cup that I just realized  matches my Kindle perfectly !! Don't you just love these mushroom designs?!?!?!

Thank you so much for choking out our stencil inspiration  ! Do you have a stash of stencils that you need to locate and create with ? If so, I hope you find them and get busy .. Until next time, have some good coffee (preferably with a friend) and stay creative. Thanks to Michael for joining us today . I know he was looking forward to a fun weekend watching the FIFA game between Brazil & Morocco  on television .

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / November 2024

Another month has gone by and Celeste and I are back with our latest blog collaboration.. Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner . And that usually includes some holiday baking for friends and families. So I thought that was the perfect theme for us . I hope you enjoy what we have created .

I bought the Martha Stewart Cottage Christmas rubber stamp set back in 2012 and never used it . So when I found it in my stash while looking for something else (no doubt ), it was my inspiration for this month's card ..

  • I stamped the Cottage Christmas elements on a piece of white cardstock, using Memento Dew Drop ink pads - Teal Zeal, Love Letter,  Cottage Ivy & Rich Cocoa .
  • I die cut the stamped panel with a Big and Little Chain Rectangle Die , leaving room at the bottom for a sentiment .
  • A piece of Fancy Pants "Home Cafe" patterned paper was cut and adhered to a 5x7 card base.
  • A sentiment from Impression Obsession's "Christmas Baking" was stamped on pale pink paper and then cut out to fit on the stamped panel. I used Catherine Pooler "Peppermint Scrub" ink .
  • The completed stamped panel was placed on the card base with foam tabs to add dimension.
  • I placed some pink striped Candy Dots on the sentiment for my finishing touch !!

I'm excited to see what Celeste has come up with for this Holiday Baking theme. You can check out her post over at her blog - Crafting Junky  While I was making this card, I enjoyed some Gingerbread coffee in a new reusable cup from my local Starbucks. I love its red and mint green and plaid design. And even though I definitely didn't need another cup I just had to add it to my collection.

Thanks for joining me and Celeste for another month of creativity. We will see you again in December. Until then , please stay creative AND warm ..

Calm is a Super Power

Sometimes you just want to make a quick card for a friend. Grab the perfect paper and a sentiment and get to work. And that is absolutely what I did when I sat down to make this card for you today . I used the Contemporary Inspiration stamp set  from the latest Technique Junkies release.

  • On a piece of Palm Tree paper from the fun Park Lane " Summer Beach Resort" paper pad,  I stamped Calm is a Super Power, using Teal Zeal and Nautical Blue Memento Dew Drop inks,
  • Calm is a Super Power is one of 4 stamps included in the Contemporary Inspiration stamp set .
  • The paper pad is 6" x 8" so all I had to do to make a card was fold it in half !! How quick and easy was that ?!?!?!

There are 12 fabulous stamps/stamp sets in the latest Technique Junkies Release .Check them all out - there's a wide variety of different themes. And always remember to use my code - TJ10Deb - to save 10% on your order. Take some time to look at what my teammates have also created - you can find their inspiration at the Design Team Blog . Thank you for stopping by ....

The July Stamp Release  from Technique Junkies is full of snails, sentiments and sass . 11 new stamps/stamp sets for your creative mind !! The new release stamps are 15% off through July 23rd - no code needed . You can use my code - TJ10Deb - for 10% off all other supplies.

It's no secret that I love snail mail - sending it, receiving it, writing it .  So I was very  excited when I saw the Swirly Snails stamp . I knew I wanted to gather my snail mail supplies together and create !! When I find snail mail in my mailbox, it's the best day ever 📪

Swirly Snails - Best Day Ever

  • I stamped the Swirly Snails stamp on white cardstock with Memento Dew Drop inks - Teal Zeal and   Rose Bud   .
  • I trimmed the Swirly Snails to get horizontal strips, one of each color.
  •  A piece of patterned from the Doodlebug  Design Love Notes paper pad  was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • I placed some Pretty Pink Posh  Love Letter Clay Confetti in a small plastic bag, folded the top down to create a square and sealed it on the backside with a strip of tape.
  • The Swirly Snail strips were placed at the top and the bottom of the card base .
  • I adhered the bag with the Confetti to the center of the card with double-sided tape.
  • A Tim Holtz Idea-ology sentiment was placed on the  front of the clear plastic bag .

Isn't this just the cutest card ever ?!?!?! I always want to make shaker cards but then veer off in another direction. This has a shaker feel without all the work .. LOL   The Technique Junkies Design Team members have all created fantastic projects with this latest release. I hope you will follow these links to see their amazing creativity !!

Friends Are Like Seashells

I found the most beautiful beachy paper pad recently that went perfectly with the latest stamps from Technique Junkies ..There are 14 fabulous stamps/stamp sets in this release and I think you will love each and every one of them!!

  • I stamped Beachcomber Borders on a piece of cream cardstock with Teal Zeal, Angel Pink and Toffee Crunch Memento Dew Drop inks . These are teardrop-shaped mini inks that make it so easy to stamp with different colors on the same stamp . The Beachcomber Borders is a set of 2 stamps that I positioned to make it look like a frame.
  • The sentiment is from a 4 stamp set - Seashell Sentiments . I stamped it on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink  and trimmed it to fit in the center of my Seashell frame.
  • The seashell patterned cardstock  is from a Summer Resort cardstock pad made by Parklane that I found at Joanns. Each of the 24 patterns is prettier than the one before !! I adhered the seashell paper to a white A2 card base.
  • After trimming the Beachcomber panel, I matted it with  piece of dark teal paper.
  • I popped up the sentiment with foam tabs in the center of the Beachcomber panel.
  • The completed stamped panel was adhered to the seashell background.
  • Candy dots that matched my shell ink colors were placed on the seashell panel..

Funny that I'm not much of a beachy person, yet I live in Virginia Beach .. However, I did love these beachy stamps from the new Release. As always, the new stamps are 15% off through June 8th - no code required. And my code - TJ10Deb - will save you 10% on all other supplies. Take a look at all of them and treat yourself to a few new stamps !!

Thank you for stopping by to see my latest project for Technique Junkies . For more inspiration, you can go to the Technique Junkies Design Team blog . My teammates have really created some beautiful cards with this Release.

Until next time, Stay Creative....

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / May 2024

It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through the year !! This month Lisa and I are being joined by our former Crafty Elf teammate, Michael Trent !! We are happy to have him back for May and can't wait to see what he's come up with ..

For my cards this month, I used 2 stamp sets by Julie Nutting for Prima Marketing Inc. - Merry Nice and Warm Wishes . These are older stamp sets from 2014 but can still be found on Etsy and eBay.

  • I stamped the Warm Wishes Prima girl on  2  pieces of white cardstock and then stamped the holly leaf next to each girl , using Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The girls and holly were colored with my COPICS.
  • Using Memento Lady Bug and Cottage Ivy inks ,I stamped the sentiments.
  • Naughty or Nice was stamped on a piece of white cardstock and then die-cut with a Pierced Chain Round Die.
  • Happy Winter was stamped on a piece of tan patterned paper and then die-cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • The scallop borders were die-cut from a Basic  Grey 25th and Pine paper pad that I have been hoarding since 2013. I used a Tim Holtz Alterations  Scallops  die from Sizzix .
  • I adhered a scalloped border to the top of each stamped panel . The die  makes 2 borders - 1 with holes punched across the border and 1 without .
  •  I adhered the sentiments to each panel with foam tabs.
  • Naughty or Nice was adhered to a Kraft card base and Happy Winter to a white card base.

I have many of these Prima girls and will be inking more of them up soon !! I hope they inspire you to get started on a few holiday cards .. For more creativity, take a look at Michael's and Lisa's cards at these links -

Thanks so much for stopping by . And a BIG thank-you to Michael for joining us, We will see you next month as we reach the halfway mark to Christmas 2024 !!
Until then, stay creative ..

He Made It/She Made It - August 2023

Michael Trent and I became friends through our love of coffee and card-making. We are now on the Design Team of Technique Junkies together . Though 4,518 miles separate us - he is in Brazil and I am in Virginia - we love talking about the cards we are creating . It's interesting to see how we each interpret a stamped image in our own unique way - sometimes similar, sometimes very different. And that is how this idea was born - each month we will choose a stamp/stamp set from the latest Technique Junkies release and create with it . We will then show you what she made ( me, Debra ) and what he made ( Michael ).

This month we chose
Creative Background . This is a fabulous background that was really fun to create with . Let's see what I made and then I will post a link to Michael's blog so you can see what he made !!

  • I first inked the Painted Background stamp with Memento Dew Drop inks -  Dandelion, Bamboo Leaves, Summer Sky and Angel Pink . I then stamped it on a piece of white cardstock.
  • The Creative Background stamp was then stamped over the colorful background with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink .
  • The stamped background was adhered to a turquoise card base .
  • I colored a few areas of the stamped image with my COPICS.
  • A piece of scrap patterned paper was placed across the stamped image, a few inches from the bottom.
  • Two pale green rhinestones were adhered on the left side of the patterned strip.
  • CREATE was then positioned next to the rhinestones, using glittery turquoise letters .

Each month, Michael and I will choose a new release Technique Junkies stamp and put our creative spin on it !! Check out what Michael has created for August at his blog -World of Michael Trent . I'm very excited to be starting this collaboration with Michael  /Technique Junkies . What do you think of our new "partnership" ?  I can't wait to see what we choose for next month !!

You can find all the August Release stamps HERE .
Creative Background is just 1 of 12 new designs to choose from ..
We will be back in September.. Until then, Happy Stamping !!!

Technique Junkies August Stamp Release

It's time for another fabulous stamp release from Technique Junkies today . You can check out all 12 stamps HERE - there is a wide variety, including Nature, Pets, Coffee, Creative and Snarky !! Remember that all individual August Release stamps will be 15% off ( no code needed ) through  August 8 . Or if you feel the need to get the entire August Release, it is available at a special price during the same time period. For all other items, remember to use my code - TJ10Deb - for a 10% discount.

This post wasn't intended to have a "house" theme, but it seemed like the thing to do when I was looking over which projects to use for the August Release today . The Leaves and Butterflies stamp seemed perfect to use as an ATC background . It was also perfect timing since I'm doing an ATC swap with a friend !!

Dream & Happy

  • I stamped the Leaves and Butterflies image on white cardstock with Bamboo Leaves, Teal Zeal and Sweet Plum Memento Dew Drop inks.
  • I used my ATC card dies to cut out the cards, with extras cut out on plain cardstock for layering .
  • A strip of washi tape was adhered to the top of each ATC.
  • I added some Simple Stories chipboard houses and flowers to each scene .
  • Typewriter word stickers were placed on each ATC.
  • Metallic dots were placed on the pink gingham washi and the blue house .

For my next project, I used a pair of stamps from the Inside Out : Twisted Encouragement stamp set . This set includes 5 fun stamp pairings of sentiments for inside and outside of your card . Or be a rebel like me and put them BOTH on the outside !!

  • I cut a piece of house- themed paper to match the WIFI theme of the stamps I was using.
  • Pieces of yellow-patterned paper from the same paper pad was adhered to the top of a powder blue card base and a pale yellow card base.
  • The house paper was adhered below the yellow paper on the card bases.
  • The sentiments were stamped in Nautical Blue Memento ink .
  • On the pale yellow card, I added a chipboard button to each side of the "Be Strong" sentiment .
So, do you see how I unintentionally ended up with a house theme ?? It seemed only right that I post these 2 projects on Day 1 of the August Release . Do you have a favorite stamp from this new release ?? There is no way I could pick a favorite - I really do love them all !!
