Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / August 2023

It's time for the August edition of Crafty Elves and this month we have a special Guest Elf. Shalana Glass is a member of the Design Team of Technique Junkies with me and Michael. She makes such amazing cards that are so vibrant and colorful !! We are excited to see what she creates ..

For my card this month, I chose the gorgeous new collection from Prima Marketing - Christmas Market . I used the Joyful Ephemera, the Chipboard and the 8x8 Paper pad.

  • On a 5x7 Kraft card base, I adhered a piece of striped paper from the Christmas Market collection .
  • I placed a thin strip of light turquoise glitter washi across the Bingo card and adhered it on the bottom right side of the card base.
  • The chipboard pieces - tree, envelope, Special Delivery and 25 -were then adhered to the card base .
  • The Santa ephemera was placed on  the card base with foam tape for added dimension.
  • The skier  was adhered on top of the Bingo card .
  • Rhinestones were placed on 3 squares of the Bingo card - green , red and crystal.

It's rare that I make a card without any stamping but this collection is so gorgeous that I didn't need to add anything else . Do you make many cards like this ??  I can't wait to make a few more for my holiday stash .

Take a peek at the other creations by Michael, Lisa, and Shalana at the links below . Misty is taking a break and we hope to se her back soon .

Hard to believe that it is only 4 months until Christmas !! We are still having close to 100 degree days here and I am SO ready for sweater weather  .. I promise not to complain when I have to bundle up .  Have you started your holiday cards yet ?? I have even addressed a few so I am feeling a bit proud of myself .. Thank you for stopping by . We are thrilled that Shalana joined us this month to help us inspire you ahead of the holidays !!

We will see you next month  - until then Stay Creative.

St. Tropez Seas

I am a rubber stamper at heart - I rarely make a card without any stamping at all . I often buy paper and stamp sets from the same collection.  I did that with the Prima Amber Moon collection that I used in a prior blog post.  I bought some paper and the ephemera pack from the Prima St. Tropez collection, not really having any plans for what I was going to do with it. I actually think I ordered it to justify the cost of shipping and then just happened to fall in love with it !!

When I sat down to make cards with St. Tropez, I was planning on looking for some nautical stamps to use with it. But I started cutting and trying out layouts, and before I knew it, I had these beautiful cards !! For once, I didn't feel like adding more and more and more !! The colors and artwork are absolutely stunning. I have a friend, Paula who recently moved to her seaside dream spot and she will definitely be receiving one of these cards..

  • These cards could not be any easier, or more stunning..
  • Using Kraft cardstock for the bases, I cut several St. Tropez patterns for backgrounds.
  • Pictures and sentiments were cut from the St. Tropez collection and chosen from the Ephemera pack and adhered with Tombow MONO Aqua Adhesive Runner and foam tabs
  • I used a few strips of thin glitter washi to finish off 2 of the cards.

" Like the ocean, my love for you has no end "

Thank you for stopping by and seeing what I created today-- without any of my beloved stamps. A bit out of my comfort zone, but I might have to do this for some of the > 100 holiday cards I will be sending !! How many cards do you send ?? Leave me a comment and I might just send you some Christmas goodies to help with your holiday card list !!

Top 5 List

Have you ever sat down to make a card and what you end up with is not anything like your original thought ?? Well, that is this card !! I had die cuts in mind and an image I had already colored but instead, I pulled out some journaling cards bought at Tuesday Morning yesterday for $1.99.. I don't presently journal or do Project Life but still seem to have an addiction to journal cards.. They are perfect for quick cards and also for making sets of cards with a particular theme. When I saw the Top 5 List card, I immediately began thinking of  MY Top 5 coffee list. Then I  pulled out a small alphabet set and the rest is history !! I had such fun stamping all of those words and was pretty darn proud of myself at how they turned out !!

Supplies :   Card base is one of 100's that I have but can't remember which company -- I chose one with pretty Fall-like flowers on it; letters for Coffee words are from a Mini wooden stamp set by Hampton Art; Wooden coffee cup is by Prima Marketing Inc.; Top 5 List & Heart journal cards are from the Indian Summer line by We R Memory Keepers .

The stamp for the back of this card is one of my new favorites !!

I hope that you like my second card entry for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Thank you for visiting Meticulosity. Please leave a comment for a chance to win some coffee goodies from me. And remember that to be eligible for any of the Flash Prizes from the Blog Hop sponsors, you have to link a Fall-themed project by the deadline of 5 pm Pacific Time on Tuesday, Sept. 29-- which is National Coffee Day !!
