Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas - December

It's so hard to believe that it is December !! Lisa and I have been on this creative journey since last year - we have made 1 ( or more ) Christmas cards each week all year long !! And we've posted about it every month on the 25th. We thought that while you are relaxing today, we would show you the last of our cards for 2019.  There are always some stragglers on my Christmas card list that get sent out last minute or a bit late, so these will be perfect ..

My first card is a favorite of mine !! Cats & Christmas !! The stamp is from Technique Junkies - Christmas Mug Shot. Don't you just love this ?? I had to add that Santa hat ...

Next is another cat card with a great stamp from Paula Best .  These stamps are no longer available but I was lucky enough to find several at the 757 Creative Reuse Center . I donated some of my craft supplies as I was destashing and found some amazing stamps there at a crazy price..

Everyone knows how much I LOVE coffee  -- to drink, in stamping, on washi tape etc..... I found these tags at Michaels and immediately got an idea for a card... I just added a coffee stirrer and some stamped images from the Dylusions set - Stocking Filler.

Next is a card with images from one of my very favorite companies - Rubber Moon . The Pairs of Mittens stamp by Marylinn Kelly is paired with a fun sentiment from Kae Pea.

I actually have another card too,  made with a beautiful stamp from Unity Stamp Company - Noel . I just did a bit of coloring and added some wide washi across the card .. Love the look of this one !!

I hope that you are inspired by these cards. Take a look at Lisa's over at her blog - Life of a BZScrapper . Her cards are always amazing !! We have had so much fun that the Crafty Elves will be continuing to make cards throughout 2020. And we each have asked a friend to join us . You will want to check back on January 25 to see who it is !! I'd love for you to start on your cards for 2020 too and to help with that, I will choose 2 commenters on this blog post to send some Christmas supplies to !! Thanks again to all who have commented and cheered us on.. We have had a blast !!

To those who celebrate, have a Merry Christmas !!
Wishing you all a Happy & healthy 2020.

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste - December

It's hard to believe another year is coming to an end !! Celeste and I have been busy getting ready for the holidays and this latest inspiration photo was perfect to keep our creative juices flowing .. We hope that all of you are almost ready to celebrate this season with your family and friends.

I recently learned about the 757 Creative Reuse Center in Norfolk, VA and donated some of my craft supplies that I was destashing. Paper, stickers, stamps, punches - it felt good to know that someone would give them a good home . And of course, while I was there, I had to look around. They have an amazing variety of stamps and I had so much fun looking through drawers and drawers of wood-mounted stamps. I was thrilled to find several Paula Best stamps and was inspired to use one for my card this month.

  • I stamped the Paula Best Cat Angel onto watercolor paper, using my favorite Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink and trimmed it to fit my card base.
  • On a pink glitter card base, I adhered a piece of cat-themed Christmas paper by Recollections.
  • A strip of red snowflake washi tape was placed across the bottom of the stamped image.
  • The image was colored with some Tombow Dual Brush markers and glitter pens. It's hard to see but the wings have areas of silver and gold glitter.
  • This stamp reminded me of our cat Pixie, even though she is not as round !!
Celeste and I showed each other our cards this evening and we were pleasantly surprised that we chose similar colors. You can see her project over at her blog - Crafting Junky. We would love for you to follow our blogs if you are not already doing so. And please leave a comment to let us know what you think of our cards this month.

My coffee this month is Gingerbread and I am drinking it from my new HONDA stainless steel bottle by Fifty/Fifty. We recently bought a Honda HRV and got to choose a fun item from their shop .. Brian got a ball cap and of course, I got a coffee cup !! Isn't it just the cutest !!!! The perfect size for my coffee at my desk at work.

Thank you again for visiting Meticulosity. Celeste and I have decided to continue with our Coffee & Cards in 2020 so you will see us again throughout the New Year. We might even have a guest or two. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.  I appreciate each and every one of you !!

December Cookies - Take 1

For Challenge #132 at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, we have a sweet inspiration photo - another take on the holiday favorite - gingerbread !! We would love for you to join us and link up a project of your own  - you have through January 8 . I am a BIG fan of all things Gingerbread -- lattes, tea,  etc..  We hope you are inspired by the projects of our Design Team..

  • I chose a fun digi stamp by Angela Y Designs on Etsy -  Gingerbread Angela - and printed it on watercolor paper.
  • The image was trimmed and then colored with a variety of my favorite markers - Faber-Castell, Tombow and Staedtler.
  • I kept a margin on the left side of the image and added three strips of washi tape lengthwise next to Gingerbread Angela.
  • The stamped image waa mounted onto a Kraft card base.
  • A Crate Paper ephemera HO HO HO postage stamp was popped up next to Angela.

I really like how this card turned out.... I had colored another one and made a few boo-boos, so I colored it again !! I'm sure I'm not the only one who does that .. Take a look at the other projects by my teammates over at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. I hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday full of lots of love , surrounded by friends and family. I look forward to seeing you back here for more challenges in 2020.

Until next time, Say Creative !!
