Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / and Michael - June 2026

Michael Trent is back once again to create with us  / all the way from Cosmopolis, Brazil  . We are in the middle of a heat wave here in Virginia Beach so it's nice to just stay indoors and make cards !!  This month, I wanted to use stencils . I have SO many that I have never inked up . It was about time to get them out and have some fun with them ! Now the only problem is deciding which ones to use .. I finally decided on a few snarky sentiments to go with a favorite Ink Road stamp .

  • I stamped the Night FAFO image from Ink Road stamps twice - once on white cardstock and again on a marbled watercolor piece of scrap paper.
  • The sentiments were stenciled on each panel - Love Letter Memento ink was used on the white panel and Tuxedo Blak Memento ink on the marbled panel.
  • I used the Sarcasm stencil from A Colorful Life Designs .
  • I matted the white panel with turquoise cardstock and adhered that to a black card base .
  • The marbled panel was matted with pink cardstock and applied to a lavender hombre card base with foam tabs.

I was an overachiever this time and created another card too . The Snarky Coffee Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was paired with a Unity Stamp Company stamp set - Tricia Girl .

For some added inspiration on how to use your stencils, check out Celeste and Michael's posts at these links .

Celeste - Stamping Junky

This month I'm drinking Caramel Pecan coffee from a favorite cup that I just realized  matches my Kindle perfectly !! Don't you just love these mushroom designs?!?!?!

Thank you so much for choking out our stencil inspiration  ! Do you have a stash of stencils that you need to locate and create with ? If so, I hope you find them and get busy .. Until next time, have some good coffee (preferably with a friend) and stay creative. Thanks to Michael for joining us today . I know he was looking forward to a fun weekend watching the FIFA game between Brazil & Morocco  on television .

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / February 2026

We're back to bring you the February edition of Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste . And it's only appropriate that this month our theme is Valentines / Hearts . We hope you like how we were inspired ..

I decided to make a card for my guy, Brian. I make many cards but somehow never seem to get around to giving him one that is handmade. So I pulled out the Ink Road stamp set Snarky Couple to make my card . We have been together since 2001, so this sentiment seemed perfect !!

Let's Grow Old and Grumpy Together

  • I adhere a piece of paper from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Red Palette Collection to a red card base. This paper collection is absolutely beautiful !!
  • The couple image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock .
  • The image was colored with my COPICs .
  • The sentiment was stamped using Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub ink .
  • I diecut the stamped image to fit the front of my card with a Stitched Square Die.
  • A piece of lace ribbon from Stampin' Up was adhered below the sentiment.
  • Valentine Word Snippet from KCS Designs by Kim was printed, cut out and adhered to the ribbon .
  • I placed a small red button on the left side of the sentiment.
  • The completed stamped panel was adhered with foam tabs in the center of the patterned paper on the card base.
  • Heart Wax Seal stickers were placed on each side of the stamped panel .

I really love the vintage feel of this card . It  reminds me of old-fashioned Valentine cards .  Be sure to go to Celeste's blog - Crafting Junky - to see how she brought our inspiration photo  to life .

For my coffee today, I chose a McCafe Loaded Chocolate Chip Cookie K-cup .  This tastes just like a delicious warm cookie right out of the oven. The cup I'm using was given to me by a friend who brought it back for me after a visit to Disney California Adventure Park . I recently found it in the midst of a big destash I've been doing ..

I made one more card with the Snarky Couple set . This card also has a vintage vibe .

Thank you for visiting with Celeste and I again to check out our cards . We will be back in March and hopefully there will be some warmer weather coming along with us . Until next time, Stay Creative ( and warm ) .

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / September 2022

As September begins, I am very much looking forward to cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice, colorful leaves and especially, Sweater Weather !! I'm so excited that we even made that our theme for this month !! Are you ready for Autumn weather to make its appearance ?? Celeste and I will help you get into the Autumn spirit with our creations..

I went in a slightly different direction with " Sweater Weather " ,,  I'm a big fan of the show "Schitt's Creek" and especially all of David's cool sweaters !! The 2 stamp sets I used are from Ink Road Stamps -Ew David & David's Sweaters .

  • I used my MISTI  to stamp the 4 sweaters on a piece of Mixed-Media paper with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink .
  • 2 pieces of thin green-patterned washi from Paper House Productions was placed to make squares.
  • The sweaters were colored with my COPICS..
  • I adhered the finished panel to a burnt orange card base.
  • The sentiment was stamped on a piece of ledger paper with a Paris Dusk Memento  Dew Drop.
  • I adhered the sentiment to the card base with foam tabs.

Celeste will have her card over at her blog - Crafting Junky . I know she will do a fabulous job with this theme and can't wait to see it . I'm continuing with the Schitt's Creek theme and using a Rose Apothecary coffee cup . That was the name of the shop that was opened by David & Patrick on the show. Can you tell that I'm a fan ?!?!?!? And for my coffee I am drinking Cranberry Creme Brulee from the fabulous Bones Coffee . They have a new Nightmare Before Christmas collection that has some very unique flavors !!

Thanks for stopping by to see what Celeste and I are making AND drinking this month .. Maybe if we channel Sweater Weather, it will happen !! I really really want to have to wear a sweater ... Fingers crossed for cooler temps ...

Until next moth, Stay Creative

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / January 2022

Welcome to 2022 and thank you for joining us again as Celeste and I get together for coffee and cards . We will be challenging each other with either a theme or sketch each month and also telling you what delicious coffee we are enjoying. To start off, we have a sketch for January, chosen by Celeste.

I will admit that sketches are outside of my comfort zone so I have really used artistic license with this in order to create my card.  The overall concept is similar but not all of the pieces and parts are exact ..

I know I'm a handful . That's why you have two hands

  • I stamped the housewife and sentiment on a piece of Mixed Media paper with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink  and a Memento Lady Bug Dew Drop . Stamp set is from Ink Road Stamps - Snarky Housewife - Volume 2 .
  • The housewife was colored with my COPICS.
  • All of the patterned papers are from a Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen paper pad . I have been hoarding it for years !! I thought they were perfect for the retro feel that I was looking for .
  • I layered the patterned papers and stamped panel on a black card base .

Celeste does an fantastic job with Sketch Challenges .. You can take a look at her card at her blog - Crafting Junky .

Thank you for visiting with me and Celeste as we start 2022 with some coffee . I definitely did not need a new coffee cup but found this one on sale at Starbucks after the holidays. Isn't it beautiful ?!?!?! And I'm drinking Jingle Bones coffee from Bones Coffee Company.  If you are looking to try a new coffee company and amazing flavors, you need to check them out !! Jingle Bones has the flavors of Vanilla, Coconut and Caramel !! It's absolutely delicious ..

We look forward to seeing you next month for more coffee and cards. If you would like to recommend a theme for us, let us know in the comments .. Please stay safe, always be creative and we will see you back here on February.

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / October 2021

In a few short months, the holidays will be here .. And I will be so glad that I have been making holiday cards all year long !! Have you started yours ?? Michael, Lisa and I have been posting every month on the 25th as we've created a holiday card each week throughout the year .. This month we have a Guest Elf and I'm sure she has some fabulous cards to share with us .. Terri Albro Burson is a talented papercrafter, mixed-media artist and designer . We met through our love of paper back in 2014 when I was chosen to be on the Design Team ( my first ) of Mountain Plains Crafters. Terri and a few friends had created an online community and I was lucky enough to become a part of it . She has worked with many amazing companies, most recently as a 2021 Guest Artist for Ranger Ink . I'm sure that she is just as thrilled to be joining us as a Crafty Elf this month !!

My first card features the cutest Christmas Bird stamp from Impression Obsession  . It was on clearance a few months ago, but they have tons of other fabulous stamps for you to choose from .  This stamp was designed by my friend Lindsay Ostrom.

  • I stamped Christmas Bird on Strathmore Mixed Media Paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink .
  • A square scalloped-edge die was used to die-cut the bird image for the card front.
  • I colored the bird image with my COPICS, Sharpies & Flair pens.
  • A piece of Tim Holtz Christmas washi tape was placed across the center of a piece of green musical notes patterned paper from a Craft Smart "Classic Vintage" paper pad.
  • The musical notes panel was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • I popped up the completed bird die-cut with foam tabs for some added dimension .

My next 3 cards were made with the Elfmas Volumes 1 & 2 stamp sets from Ink Road Stamps .It's no secret that Elf is one of my favorite movies and I couldn't wait to ink up these stamps !! I think I know each and every line from the movie word for word. My guy, Brian even got an ELF costume one year during the holidays and came to the hospital where I work to surprise me when I was the ICU Manager . We walked around the different floors and sang Christmas carols with some of the staff and patients !!  A great Christmas memory ..

  • I stamped ELF  on the left side of a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper  with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment on the right side with Memento Lady Bug & Bamboo Leaves. I masked the sentiment on the diagonal to get the color blend exactly right . And I love how it turned out .
  • I found a scrap of paper that reminded me of Gingerbread houses & their icing and cut a strip to fit down the left side of a Kraft card base.
  • The completed stamped panel was adhered next to the patterned strip.

  • I stamped ELF in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment below that with Memento Lady Bug ink  on Strathmore Mixed Media paper.
  • I placed a strip of red snowflake washi in between ELF and the sentiment.
  • The stamped panel was adhered to a red cardstock mat .
  • A beautiful floral card base was a pretty touch for this card .

  • I stamped the 4 Main Food Groups sentiment onto a piece of Mixed Media paper with Tuxedo Black ink.
  • I colored the image with my COPICS.
  • The stamped image was matted on a piece of red cardstock.
  • I adhered a piece of scrap glittery gumdrop paper to a bright blue card base.
  • The completed stamped panel was then popped up onto the gumdrops with Foam tabs. I love how bright and colorful this card is !!

Please take a look at the other Crafty Elf cards over at their blog posts for much more holiday inspiration. And don't miss what our Guest Elf has created for us, because I'm sure it is fantastic !! A big Thank-You to Terri for joining us this month ..

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / December 2020

It is so hard to believe that Christmas is here !! This is our last post of 2020 And then it is on to 2021. I don't think anyone will be sorry to see this year in our rear-view mirror . On to bigger and better AND happier and healthier !! Michael and Lisa and I will all be back for another year of Crafty Elves . But for this month, we are each posting 1 card and then choosing our favorites from each other.  And believe me, that was a hard task because all of their cards were amazing !!

If you know me at all, you know that I love to read.. I have been a bookworm my entire life !! I am in several book groups on Facebook and love keeping up with everyone's latest reading list.. I actually met several like-minded readers in one group and we actually created our own group - Novel Characters . Last year we started a Christmas Book Exchange and my card today is the one I sent with my book to my fellow reader this year ..

  • I stamped the READ Bookshelf onto watercolor paper with  Gina K Amalgam Jet Black ink  and trimmed it, leaving room on the right side and the bottom.
  • The image was colored with my COPICs  and Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pens.
  • A thin strip of gold washi was placed at the bottom of the watercolor panel and then a strip of book washi above that, ending near the bottom of the book shelf.
  • I used planner stickers to add the 2020 to the panel.
  • A piece of pale green patterned paper was adhered to a light green card base.
  • The completed panel was adhered near the top of the card and a Tim Holtz sentiment sticker finished the card perfectly.
I also made a bookmark to send with the card - using a great stamp set by A Jillian Vance Design - Coffee and Books . The bookmark is backed with thick cardstock and then a piece of lined ledger paper  so the reader can take notes or keep a book list. I love this card and bookmark and can't wait to see what the recipient thinks !! Hopefully  the USPS won't let me down and the card will delivered safely ..

What can I say about Michael's cards ?? They are always colorful - they are beautiful - they are always amazing !! I actually chose one of his more "subdued" cards as my favorite . It is absolutely beautiful and you can read all about it here in his July 2020 post . When I look at this card, the word I think of is "SERENE" - something that this year was sorely lacking.. This card is perfect !!

Lisa has a knack for creating the most intricate scenes in many of her cards !! I am envious of her talents .. But for my favorite, I chose a slimline card that she created that just explodes with Christmas Spirit !! The colors POP and the glitter washi along the bottom adds just the right touch of shimmer. You can read all about her card in her October 2020 post .

I have a few more to send but otherwise, I am done with my Holiday cards.. I am working a 12 hour shift at the hospital this year so we will be celebrating  Christmas on the 26 with  a spiral ham and all the fixins !!! And sometime during the first week of 2021, I will be starting on my Christmas cards oncc again !! I hope that you will join us throughout the New Year, But for the last posts of 2020, please take a look at what Lisa and Michael have created for December and also their favorites of their fellow Crafty Elves..

Coffee and Cards with Deb and Celeste / July 2020

Here we are another month into our COVID-19 world and I was happy to be blogging with Celeste this weekend.  It gives me something to focus on besides what design mask I will wear next or should I really really venture out to the grocery store again !! This month we decided to do a Christmas in July post .. Many companies are having Christmas in July sales, there is a blog hop going on and even a few Facebook pages are focused on holiday card-making ..

For my card this time, I used an Inked Girl stamp "Becky" from Ink Road Stamps . It was their December 2019 Inked Girl .They are limited edition and there is a new one released each month. I thought that this one was perfect for the times we are in .... Normal anxiety, COVID anxiety, holiday anxiety. And then there is always hurricane anxiety !!  I will admit I am a bit of a worrier.

It's time to switch
from my regular anxiety
To my fancy
holiday anxiety

  • I stamped Becky and the sentiment onto Strathmore Marker paper with Gina K Amalgam Ink.
  • The image was colored with Copics.
  • I cut banners from multiple patterns of holiday paper and stapled them to the left side of the stamped image.
  • I adhered the image to a piece of red dotted paper and  then that piece to a pink card base.
  • The sentiment was popped up with foam tabs.
Celeste has created a fun card over at her blog - Stamping Junky . Please take a look and leave her a comment. We would love for you to sign up to follow us each month.  This month I will be sending some holiday mail to one lucky commenter on this blog post .. I'll choose 1 person at random on August 1. So be sure to comment here !!

This month I'm drinking some  Hostess SnoBall Coffee in a beautiful holiday cup I got last year from Rifle Paper Company.  The coffee is chocolate, vanilla and coconut flavored.. Tastes just like a cupcake !!

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity once again . I hope that you are ALL staying safe and healthy.  I'm looking forward to the day when I can take my coffee picture at my local coffee shop while I hang out !! Until next time, stay creative !!

Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / April 2020

Celeste and I are back together ( in a social distancing kind of way ) for our April edition of Coffee and Cards . This month we are paying tribute to healthcare workers. I can't say enough about everyone on the front lines during this COVID-19 pandemic. I see all of their hard work and dedication at the hospital I've worked at for over 30 years  ( most of them in the ICU ). I'm no longer in direct patient care but certainly can understand the day to day challenges of caring for these patients. It takes a toll - both physically and mentally. And the impact will be felt for years to come.

I just received the EMMA stamp set by The Ink Road  this past week and she was just perfect for this card. The COVID  image is also from  Ink Road.  Although this is a female depiction, I am also honoring all of the male healthcare workers . Celeste is a medical assistant and I'm an RN. I feel like it's so important to acknowledge the fabulous job our front-line workers are doing !! This is our salute to them !!

  • I stamped Emma, the COVID image and the sentiment onto watercolor paper with Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink.
  • I stamped the mask image onto a variety of patterned papers then fussy-cut them.
  • The nurse was fussy-cut, then colored with a variety of my favorite markers.
  • I adhered a scrap piece of street scene paper onto a black card base.
  • The COVID image was made with a scalloped circle punch.
  • I placed red rhinestones around the edge of the scalloped circle - every other space.
  • The sentiment was adhered in the lower left corner of the card base.
  • I placed the COVID image towards the top left.
  • The nurse was popped up with foam tabs towards the bottom right side of the card base.
While we are thanking healthcare workers on the front lines, I also can't forget to thank ALL essential personnel who are still working to help us in this time of crisis. Grocery store workers, bank employees, mechanics, food service workers - just to name a few. We will get through this by supporting each other !! And I see examples of this every day at the hospital - with food donations for the staff, with masks made by co-worker's family members, with team members offering child care to others.

I am drinking tea this month and using a cool new steeper. It's a silicon rabbit holding a carrot. The loose tea goes in the carrot and then the rabbit sits on the edge of your cup as the carrot goes in the hot water to make your tea .. The tea is Garden Grove Green Tea from Plum Deluxe . It has dried cherries,  jasmine flowers, rose petals and vanilla . I'm using a classic Starbucks cup this time.

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity again.I hope that you are all staying safe .  Take care of yourselves and each other. Please take a look at the card that Celeste has created this month over at her blog -   Crafting Junky. We appreciate you joining us each month  for our Coffee & Cards collaboration !!

Until next time - Stay Creative ( and safe )
