Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / September 2023

It's time for the Crafty Elves to show you our creations for September.   There are only 3 months until Christmas and every month on the  25th, Michael, Lisa and I  show you our holiday cards to inspire you to start on your own .. This month we have a Guest Elf - Pam Stang  of Mustang Creations .

I used the Happy Gnomes Bundle from Hero Arts to make my card, I recently won a prize of  a gift card from Hero Arts and this stamp/die set was one of my purchases.  I am really not on the gnome bandwagon like many are lately, but I did love this set .

  • I stamped the 2 gnomes on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the matching dies to cut them .
  • The sentiment was also stamped on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The images were colored with my COPICS.
  • On a pink card base, I adhered a piece of patterned paper from the Miss Mary Christmas paper pad.
  • I used the Dashes and Frills Heart Die Set from Unity Stamp Company to die cut a heart from pale pink polka-dot paper.
  • The heart was adhered to the center of the patterned paper near the top.
  • The gnomes were positioned on either side of the heart .
  • I trimmed around the sentiment and adhered it to a piece of the same pin polka-dot paper.
  • The sentiment was popped up on the card front with foam tabss.

You can check out the other creations at the links below :

Thank you to Pam for joining us this month !! We hope that you are now ready to make a few holiday cards. I look forward to having you check us out again next month.

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / September 2023

Celeste and I are back this month and FINALLY Fall has arrived.. I think that the crazy hot weather is over and we are in for some beautiful days ahead. NAS Oceana is having their airshow today, so Brian is watching from our front yard, where  the view is magnificent !! I'm finishing up this blogpost while the jets fly overhead .  Our theme this month is one of our favorites - Coffee . And Celeste found a fabulous inspiration photo ..

For my card today, I used the Photoplay I Love Fall stamp & die collection. These have been in my stash for awhile and I knew they would be perfect for this month's card ..

  • I stamped the girl, pumpkin and leaves on White Mixed Media paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The matching dies were used to cut out the stamped images.
  • I then colored the images with my COPICS.
  • On an orange card base, I adhered a piece of quilt design patterned paper. I have been hoarding this paper for years and years !!
  • I used a stitched rectangle die to create a background for my stamped images.
  • The girl and gold leaf were adhered to the word patterned paper and then the pumpkin, acorn and orange leaf were popped up with foam tabs .
  • I adhered the completed stamped panel to the quilted paper.
  • A Happy Together sticker from Paper House Productions was placed in the upper right corner of the stamped panel. I used this sticker because when it comes to coffee,  are ALWAYS happy together !!

Celeste is an expert at coffee cards so you won't want to miss hers !! You can check it out over at her blog Crafting Junky . This month I am drinking some Toffee Almond coffee from a fun cup .. it's the Heartbeat Cup from Cognitive Surplus.  I am currently monitoring patient's heart rhythms at the hospital I work at so I just had to have this when I saw it.  It also helped me study for the latest Rhythm Test I just had to take .. LOL

I hope that our cards have gotten you into the Fall mood and inspired you to make a few of your own. We appreciate you stopping by and look forward to seeing you next month . Until then, enjoy Fall leaves, pumpkin spice everything and most of all, Stay Creative.

He Made It / She Made It - Sept. 2023

Michael Trent and I are back with our He Made It / She Made It for September .. We choose a stamp set from the latest release at Technique Junkies and create with it .. This time we chose the Explore the World stamp .. Let's see what we each came up with !!

This stamp is one sentiment - You Don't Need to Travel to Explore the World. The first thought I had for this stamp was BOOKS. Books take you all over the world, even into outer space, without leaving the comforts of your own home. I have been a booklover all my life and had such fun making this card ..

  • I adhered a piece of book-themed paper from the Book Club collection at Photoplay Paper to a Kraft card base.
  • The Explore the World stamp was stamped on a piece of paper from Photoplay with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It was actually the double-side of the book-themed paper !!
  • I die cut a circle from red textured cardstock.
  • The die-cut circle was adhered at the top of the card. with foam tabs
  • A Doodlebug bookstack was placed on top of the die-cut circle.
  • The sentiment was adhered below the circle with foam tabs.

I can't wait to see what Michael has done with this stamp !! I'm wondering if he thought of books too .. Or maps, Or some sort of local sight-seeing .. You can check out his blog - World of Michael Trent - to see what he made.

For my bookworm friends, here is a list of some of my favorite books that you can "travel the world" with ...

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - Lisa See / China
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - J.K.Rowling / Scotland
The Book of Lost Names - Kristin Harmel / France
Between Two Kingdoms - Suleika Jaouad / USA
The Dry - Jane Harper / Australia
The Rose Code - Kate Quinn / England
The Martian - Andy Weir / Space, the Final Frontier
The Around the World Cookbook - Lorenz Brooks / the World

Drop a House

As soon as I saw this stamp from the September Release at Technique Junkies,  I immediately wanted to try out an idea I have had for quite awhile .. The new  Drop a House stamp was perfect for the cover of a journal I wanted to create !! I paired it with an older Technique Junkies sentiment,  an older Technique Junkies set -  Wisdom of Oz - and some products from Paper House Productions.  New release stamps are 15% off through September 10 this month. And my code TJ10Deb  will get you 10% off all other items.

Don't Make Me Drop a House on You

  • I started off with a blank journal .
  • On a piece of watercolor paper, I stamped the Drop a House image and colored it with my COPICS .
  • I cut the completed stamped panel and matted it with a piece of red cardstock .
  • A piece of Wizard of Oz Borders paper  was adhered to the front cover of the journal.
  • The stamped panel was adhered to the cover of the journal .
  • Several red pearls were placed on the stamped image.
  • I stamped throughout the notebook with sentiments from the Wisdom of Oz set and the Yellow Brick Road stamp. I paired them with stickers and/or washi from Paper House Productions .

I plan on using this journal for crafty ideas, lists of cards sent/received etc.. I'm also planning on making a set of cards with the Wisdom of Oz set. Do you mainly make cards with your stamps ?? What other projects do you create ?? Thank you for stopping by to see my latest creation .. It is always appreciated ..

Technique Junkies Stamp Release/ September 2023

I cannot wait for you all to see the fantastic stamps Technique Junkies is releasing for September !! If you are a fan of Halloween especially, you will be absolutely thrilled .. Today, I thought I would show you a few of the Halloween stamps from this new Release. Give you time to order them and create some cards of your own !! The first stamp I used is Hocus Pocus . I've enjoyed using non-traditional colors on holiday cards and wanted to try it on some Halloween cards.

  • On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the Hocus Pocus image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink for the leg  and Teal Zeal Memento ink for the sentiment .
  • I also stamped the bow area of the shoe a second time.
  • I colored the image with my COPICS .
  • The extra bow image was fussy-cut and colored.
  • Using a glue pen as adhesive, I glittered the stocking with
  • The extra bow was popped up on top of the stamped panel with a foam tab .
  • I matted the stamped panel on a piece of teal cardstock.
  • I created a banner using a banner punch and Prima Twilight paper. It was stapled to the top of a piece of  pumpkin patterned paper, also from the Prima Twilight collection.
  • The completed panel was adhered to a pale orange card base.

My next card reminds me of the movie Hocus Pocus, that I had never seen until a few years ago !! A broom for each witch - Winifred, Sarah and Mary. The Prima Twilight paper that I used has pink incorporated into some of the pages and I really love it , The stamp I used is called Frequent Flyer .

  • I stamped the Frequent Flyer sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink .
  • The broomsticks were stamped with Peanut Brittle and Rich Cocoa memento inks.
  • The broom heads were stamped with Dandelion Memento ink .
  • Purple, rust and green glitters were placed on the broom heads.
  • The completed stamped panels were matted with black cardstock.
  • I wrapped a piece of twine around the top of the completed, stamped panel .
  • On an orange card base, I adhered a piece of vertical-striped paper from the Prima Twilight paper pad .
  • I popped up the completed panel with foam tabs .

Are you a fan of non-traditional colors on the cards you make ?? Do you make Halloween cards ? I will be sending several this year. Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / August 2023

Celeste and I are bringing you a little bit of SPARKLE this month as we have coffee and make cards .. I had the perfect stamp from the August Release at Technique Junkies - Born To Sparkle . Since everything is always better with a bit of sparkle, we chose it as our theme !!

  • I started by using a Sunburst die from Gina Marie Designs and cutting it with a piece of gold glitter paper and a piece of white glitter paper.
  • The sunbursts were adhered to card bases - the gold to a red card base and the white to  kraft.
  • The sentiment - Born To Sparkle -  was stamped with Nautical Blue Memento ink  and then cut to fit across the card base .
  • I popped up the sentiment across both cards with foam tabs .
  • I placed a large faceted rhinestone with a Paris design at the center of the white starburst and a Butterfly rhinestone on the gold.

I love these cards .. The glitter paper I used doesn't leave glitter all over the place which is a win in my guy's book .. He is NOT a fan of the sparkle !! Let's take a look at how Celeste is sparkling this month - you can see her card over at Crafting Junky .

My birthday is this month so I gave myself permission to buy a new cup without having to recycle one I already have . Plus this was 30% off at my local Starbucks !! I love everything mermaid and this really is gorgeous .Hard to tell but it's even sparkly at the bottom.  I'm drinking McDonald's Toffee Almond Iced Coffee today while I work on this post. Delicious !!

As we wind down summer, I am excitedly looking forward to cooler months. Sweater weather is my favorite time of year ..  And after all of our 100+ degree days, I promise not to complain when it is cold outside.  Well, at least not out loud !!

Thanks again for visiting Meticulosity ..
Until next time, Stay Creative

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / August 2023

It's time for the August edition of Crafty Elves and this month we have a special Guest Elf. Shalana Glass is a member of the Design Team of Technique Junkies with me and Michael. She makes such amazing cards that are so vibrant and colorful !! We are excited to see what she creates ..

For my card this month, I chose the gorgeous new collection from Prima Marketing - Christmas Market . I used the Joyful Ephemera, the Chipboard and the 8x8 Paper pad.

  • On a 5x7 Kraft card base, I adhered a piece of striped paper from the Christmas Market collection .
  • I placed a thin strip of light turquoise glitter washi across the Bingo card and adhered it on the bottom right side of the card base.
  • The chipboard pieces - tree, envelope, Special Delivery and 25 -were then adhered to the card base .
  • The Santa ephemera was placed on  the card base with foam tape for added dimension.
  • The skier  was adhered on top of the Bingo card .
  • Rhinestones were placed on 3 squares of the Bingo card - green , red and crystal.

It's rare that I make a card without any stamping but this collection is so gorgeous that I didn't need to add anything else . Do you make many cards like this ??  I can't wait to make a few more for my holiday stash .

Take a peek at the other creations by Michael, Lisa, and Shalana at the links below . Misty is taking a break and we hope to se her back soon .

Hard to believe that it is only 4 months until Christmas !! We are still having close to 100 degree days here and I am SO ready for sweater weather  .. I promise not to complain when I have to bundle up .  Have you started your holiday cards yet ?? I have even addressed a few so I am feeling a bit proud of myself .. Thank you for stopping by . We are thrilled that Shalana joined us this month to help us inspire you ahead of the holidays !!
