Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / April 2026

April is here and that means a Spring theme for our cards this month. We also decided to use  embossing folders and I found the perfect one while destashing !! We are in for warmer temperatures here in Virginia Beach - heading up into the 80's next week. I hope you are enjoying Spring weather wherever you are .

I used supplies that I have had for awhile on my card today . The Cuttlebug "Cherry Blossom" embossing folder and Close To My Heart "Spring Critters" stamp set were the perfect duo for a Spring birthday card .

Make a Wish

  • I embossed a piece of pink cardstock with the Cherry Blossom embossing folder. I trimmed it and adhered it to a 5x7 card base.
  • The bird with banner image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock .
  • I die-cut the stamped image with a square die .
  • The stamped image was colored with my COPICS.
  • A Tim Holtz sentiment was placed in the banner.
  • A strip of grass washi was placed across the bottom of the stamped panel.
  • A banner sticker was placed at an angle at the top of the embossed panel.
  • Several pink rhinestones were adhered to the embossed area above the banner.
  • I popped up the stamped panel below the banner with foam squares.

To get a look at Celeste's Spring creation, please head over to her blog - Crafting Junky . I can't wait to see what she made. This month, I got out a fun mug from one of my favorite tv shows - Schitt's Creek . Dan Levy - one of the show's creators and stars - has a new show called Big Mistakes on   Netflix. I saw the mug in my cupboard and decided to use it. I'm drinking Glazed Donut coffee today .

Thanks for checking out of April cards .. We will be back next month with more to show you. Until then, Stay Creative.

Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / May 2024

Spring is finally here and what better theme for my May collaboration with Celeste !! It is a bit rainy here today but Brian just planted some items in the garden and is happy for the wet weather today ..  Our Spring inspiration photo is beautiful and I hope it inspires you too ..

You do not just wake up and become the butterfly -
Growth is a process

I loved this stamp from the minute I saw it !! This beautiful image is  Sapling Tales from Aall & Create .. A stack of books with some lovely flowers - perfect for my post today !!

  • I stamped the image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • It was colored with my COPICS and Flair pens.
  • I die cut the image with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • A piece of vintage-looking floral paper from  the Pretty Things collection by My Mind's Eye was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • I matted the completed stamped panel with a pale pink cardstock.
  • The panel was adhered to the floral paper with foam tabs.

I love the message on this card - Choose Joy .Sometimes in the midst of turmoil in your life, it's hard to remember to be grateful and happy. Today I am  grateful for my friendship with Celeste and our mutual love of coffee and cards . We are both choosing JOY today. Check out her card over at her blog - Crafting Junky . I know it will be as beautiful as all her other cards ..

My coffee today is Vanilla Skyline from Brooklyn Bean Roastery . I made iced coffee and have it in my new cold cup from Starbucks. I had enough points on my Starbucks card to get this cup for free and couldn't resist it . It obviously has our sweet cat Pixie on it !! The design is by Chinese artist Monyee Chau . Don't you love it ?!?!?!

Thank you for stopping by my post today . Please check out Celeste's also. We will be back next month with more coffee, cards and inspiration for you !!

Until next time -

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / March 2022

Not too sure how March got here already, but here we are with another post !! It seemed appropriate that the theme this time would be Spring . We have had some strange weather here in Virginia Beach - 80' one day and 30' the next . Sometimes we have both temperatures all in 1 day !! I am optimistic that  we are calming down for a lovely Spring .. I hope it is warming up where you are .

I took creative license with the Spring theme and used something completely different than the inspiration photo . I originally was going to use a stamp with birds/birdhouses but changed my mind and used Irish Blessing designed by Lindsey Ostrom for Impression Obsession ..  I loved the stamp so much that I actually made 2 cards ..

  • I stamped the images on white cardstock with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink .
  • I die-cut one image with  a starburst die and also a slightly larger one from yellow cardstock.
  • A scalloped square  was die-cut  using green cardstock  .
  • I colored the images with my COPICS and some Kaiser Glitter pens .
  • I adhered the stamped/colored images to their matching diecuts.
  • The Field Study paperpad  from Paper House Productions was used for my background panels . Doesn't it look like pictures of an Irish countryside ?!?!?!
  • I used a white card base for the square image and brown for the sunburst .
  • I popped up the completed stamped panels using foam tabs.
Take a look at Celeste's blog - Crafting Junky - to see how she is getting in the Springtime mood !! We are so happy that you are back with us for another month of creativity ..  My coffee this time is from Bones Coffee Company . I am drinking Shark Bite coffee, which is flavored like Buttered Rum. And believe me, it is delicious !! I am drinking from my clearance 99 cent Hobby Lobby cup .

Be Your Own Kind of Wonderful

Thank you again for stopping by ..
Until next month, stay creative and drink some good coffee !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / March 2021

I know that I'm not the only one who is ready for cold weather to be over and a new season to begin !! Celeste and I are so thrilled for Spring to get here  and that is our theme for our blog posts this month. My guy is anxious to get outside and work in the raised beds that he built last year. And I look forward to spending time on the deck with my planner or a good book !

I had this stamp in mind from Rubber Moon as soon as I found out the March theme. Designed by Dave Brethauer, Whistle While You Work is a whimsical take on Spring.

A New Beginning

  • On a white card base, I layered a thin strip of pink gingham paper over a floral-patterned piece, creating a border at the top ..
  • I stamped the Whistle While You Work image on a lined journal card with Gina K Jet Black Amalgam Ink .
  • The stamped image was colored with my COPIC markers.
  • I stapled a thin strip of pale blue paper to the upper left side of the journal card, using 2 staples.
  • The journal card was popped up at an angle on the floral paper with foam tabs.
  • Fine glitter was placed on the water sprinkles coming from the watering can.
  • A Tim Holtz Idea-ology sticker sentiment was placed at the lower right corner of the journal card.
  • Rhinestones were placed along the gingham strip at the top of the card .

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity and checking out my March card .. Now head on over to Celeste's blog - Crafting Junky - for a look at her take on our Spring theme !! Has Spring arrived where you live ?? We have a few daffodils blooming near our mailbox and they are an absolutely beautiful sight !! I'm looking forward to our COVID lockdown lessening and maybe having coffee with  a friend soon .. For my coffee with this post, I am using a colorful cup from the Philippines that a friend brought me back from her visit with her family . I'm drinking Blueberry Coffee-cake coffee and it is delicious !!

Until next time, Stay Creative
and Stay safe !!!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste - 3/31

Once again, Celeste and I are here with our cards and coffee. Hard to believe that April is almost here and it is Spring already. I know that I am ready for spring temperatures and flowers and spending time on the deck with my morning coffee. Our inspiration for this month was a picture found by Celeste.  We hope that you will be inspired too !!

I wanted a bright, cheerful, flowery card to get me in a springtime mood. I immediately thought of a digi stamp set from the Etsy shop - Polka Dot Orchard. I am one of the first members of their Design Team and look forward to showing you  many of their fun stamps !! I used the digi set " It's Your Day ".

  • I started off with a Molly & Rex watercolor card base. It had matching colors to the patterned paper that I used.
  • The digi images of the cup, teapot and sentiment were printed out on a piece of patterned paper - American Crafts "Lucky Charm" Sunny Day paper . This paper is brightly colored floral on one side and a pretty pale pink on the other. Perfect for this card !!
  • I fussy cut the cup and teapot and trimmed the sentiment to fit the card.
  • I colored areas of the teapot with a pink Brea Reese marker .
  • Pralines & Cream Fairy Dust Glitter by Clearsnap  was placed on the top area of the cup with Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue. I think it looks just like my tea after adding some cream and honey.
  • I placed a strip of turquoise glitter washi along the bottom area of the card base.
  • The teapot was positioned to look like it was pouring tea into the cup.
  • I adhered the sentiment in  the upper left corner. All paper elements were adhered with MONO Adhesive+ Permanent Runner.

I hope that you will take a look at all of the fun digi stamp sets over at Polka Dot Orchard. I had fun with this card and actually made 2 more. I can't wait to see what Celeste has come up with to celebrate Spring -- head over to her blog @ Crafting Junky and take a look.  For my drink this month, I chose tea to go with my card. I am drinking a Matcha Green tea from a bright red floral Starbucks cup . With just a hint of cream and a bit of honey !!  Brian just refinished a small wrought iron table and 2 chairs that were his parents and they are outside on our deck.  I will be drinking my morning coffee and tea out there whenever I can !!

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity.

A Note of Appreciation

Our group challenge with my gals at Mountain Plains Crafters was to create a card to tell someone how much you appreciate them. Spring flowers needed to be a part of the project. Then we all need to send what we created to the person it was made for. I am sure you all have someone in your life that you owe a thank you note or a note of appreciation. After all, April is National Letter Writing Month so join in the fun and send someone special a little something in the mail.

A friend of mine who also happens to be my boss will be retiring next month. She is an amazing person and goes above and beyond to be fair and kind to everyone. She is looking forward to spending much more time with her family. And although I will miss her, I wish her all the best... Penny is a wonderful person and I hope retirement is filled with many happy "Grands" days !!! This card is for her..

For my appreciation card, I used a Sizzix Alterations "On the Edge" die by Tim Holtz for the border and a Spellbinders "Laurel and Bee" D-Lites die. The floral and woodgrain papers are from the My Mind's Eye "Howdy Doody" collection. I finished the card with a sentiment from the Stampin' Up "Pursuit of Happiness" set after sponging the edges of the stamped image with Color Box Turquoise ink. This card will be in the mail to Penny this week..

Check out all of the creations by the Design Team members of Mountain Plains Crafters on their blog.. Then sit down and create a card or other project, or write a note of appreciation to someone you care about. You will be glad you did !! And thanks for visiting Meticulosity-- it means the world to me that you want to share in my creativity..

( Blog ) Hopping Into Spring ...

I don't know about you but I am more than ready for Spring to get here.. With the third snowfall last night here in Virginia Beach, I am now very eager to hop into Spring. And what better way than with a Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I missed the Holiday themed Hop so this time I am thrilled to be able to participate !! And now we even have a new home to post all of our coffee, tea and cocoa creations. Check out the entire Hop here  to see everyone's amazing projects and all of the wonderful sponsors. I will be posting several starting today until it ends on March 6.. There will be some great prizes from amazing sponsors throughout the Hop... I will also be choosing someone to win some Spring supplies from those who comment on my posts during the Hop..

For my first card, I finally inked up a stamp that I have had for awhile. I was planning on using it for the Holiday Hop but computer issues got in the way. It is "Perk Me Up Peeps" by Stampingbella. You can't help but feel good when you see these 2 cuties !! I also used a bit of Basic Grey paper and some Robin's Nest Dew Drops in Orchid and Poinsettia.. Welcome to our anticipation of Spring !!
