December Cookies - Take 1

I absolutely loved the Inspiration picture for this Challenge because it reminded me of some fabulous new supplies I recently bought - the Carta Bella "Christmas" collection . This 2 week challenge from If You Give a Crafter a Cookie  will be the last until March. The blog will be taking a short break but will definitely be back with more fantastic cookie inspiration in the New Year ! So I was really excited to get to use my new products for this simple, but beautiful card.

These cookies reminded me of Kraft paper and I was especially drawn to the candle images.I rarely make cards without any stamping on them, but this  was a fun exception. Out sponsor for this challenge is The Cutting Cafe . If you link up a project in the next 2 weeks, you just might win a prize from them !! So get inspired by our fun cookie picture and create a holiday project. I did !!!

  • I started out with a Kraft card base. It really did remind me of the cookies from our Inspiration picture.
  • From the Carta Bella Collection  "Christmas',  I adhered a large tag from the Ephemera pack to the right side of the card.
  • At the bottom left of the card, I placed a lantern with candle from the Chipboard Accents pack .
  • I paper-punched the banner flags from scrap glitter cardstock and adhered 4 in Christmas colors to the top left of the Kraft cardbase.
  • All items were adhered using my Scotch ATG Gun .

I love the simplicity of this card. I know I will be making several more with this collection and will probably incorporate some stamping into the designs as well.  I would love to see what you come up with using our Inspiration picture.. Take a look at the Challenge Blog to see what the team has created. As I said earlier in this post, we will be taking a break for a few months. I will keep you up to date on our return so you can join us again in some fun Cookie Challenges !!

Polka Dot & Peppermint - Coffee Hop # 2

I just had to make a card with this Freebie set from Polka Dot Orchard . It is being offered free  HERE for the Hop and as soon as I saw it I thought - Peppermint Mocha !! Jessica Pickeral Burnham is the owner and she's also a Super Sponsor for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop . Check out her blog post and see the rest of her digi stamp sets !!

  • I started with a Kraft card base . I always love Kraft, but at Christmas time especially, I think it give a great vintage feel to a card .
  • The background image and  coffee cup digis were printed on Neenah Stardust White cardstock . I fussy-cut the cup and trimmed the background to fit the base .
  • I also printed the cup on a Holly-patterned paper from The Paper Studio. It was then cut out and adhered to the cup.
  • The images were colored with my favorite variety of markers - Brea Reese Markers, Sharpies and Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens.
  • I placed a strip of Little B Red-foil Striped washi  across the upper part of the background digi.
  • A gold tinsel bow by American Crafts added more shine to the middle of the washi strip.
  • I adhered the background to the Kraft with my Pink Scotch ATG Runner and popped up the Coffee Cup with Tombow Foam Tabs
  • A few red rhinestones were added to the holly paper on the cup and Fine White glitter was used on the whipped cream.

There are already over 350 projects linked up at the 2018 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and it is only Day 3 !!  Be sure to go there and check out all of the inspiration and think about linking up a Fall/Winter themed Coffee, Tea or Cocoa project of your own !!

Thank  you again for visiting Meticulosity. Please comment for a chance to win some Blog Candy from me  -- I will choose 1 person at random at the end of the Hop from those who comment.

September Cookie Anniversary

It's time for another If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Challenge and this one is even more special because it is their 4th Anniversary !! To celebrate, we are having a special Anything Goes Challenge.  Yes, you read that right. You can make anything and link it up for a chance at some wonderful prizes from our sponsors !! To see a list of the sponsors and their prizes, go to the main blog page HERE . This challenge runs for 2 weeks so link something before September 20.

I am showcasing stamps from 2 of our sponsors. This first project uses a digi from Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I think they were the first ever digis that I ever used. I absolutely LOVE coffee images and they have some fabulous ones !! I used a favorite on  my card !!

  • I printed the MIS JJ Coffee image onto a sheet of my favorite Neenah Stardust White cardstock.
  • The image was cut to fit onto an A2 card base and then colored using Sharpies, & Faber-Castell markers.
  • I adhere the image to a wood-grain card base on a slight angle, using my handy-dandy ATG Gun .
  • I used a Yellow ZIG Wink of Stella Glitter Brush Marker to highlight her hair and Glossy Accents on the lenses of her glasses.

For my second card, I used  a digi from Little Blue Button .  I love to paper-piece and this stamp is perfect for that . I can see her wearing many prints on those cute yoga pants !! The Tree Asana is a basic yoga pose that you can read more about here

Do More of What Makes You Happy

  • The Tree Asana digi stamp from Little Blue Button  was printed on Neenah Stardust White cardstock.
  • I cut the image, leaving enough room at the bottom for a washi tape yoga mat and on the left side for a sentiment.
  • On a pink hexagon patterned card base, I placed a row of banners down the left side of the card. A sentiment was placed to the right of the Tree Asana image. These stickers were from the Mint To Be Fab Sticker Book by The Paper Studio.
  • The Tree Asana image was adhered using my ATG Gun.

I'd like to thank all of our wonderful sponsors for supporting us throughout the year and especially now for this 4th Anniversary Challenge !! It was so nice of them to each donate a prize. I was very intimidated at the thought of a digi-stamp for a long time but finally took the plunge and now I am a big fan !! Please link up a project on the main Challenge page HERE. And we'd love for you to comment on our posts -- all of my teammates will have projects of their own highlighting digis  from our sponsors.

It's fun being a part of this Challenge Blog Team and I'm so happy that you are following along on my creative journey through my blog, Meticulosity !! Stay tuned for more fun challenges from If You Give a Crafter a Cookie !!!

Christmas in August Hop with Anthony's Paper Craft

I'm so excited to be a part of this first ever Blog Hop with members of the Anthony's Paper Craft Design Team. We decided to do a "Christmas in August" Hop and I'm thrilled to be hopping along with these fantastically creative teammates - Michael Trent, Mike Fernholz and Mary Kay Werry. Our Christmas inspiration will be posted every Friday in August, starting today. We will introduce you to some amazing stamps, inspire you to create some projects of your own and maybe even have a prize or two !!

The stamps I used for this card are the Fireplace Mantel Set and Christmas Set 2 . These stamps are intricately detailed and provide a beautiful image. I love combining patterned papers and  this card was no exception.

  • I stamped the Christmas Mantel and the Holly Basket on Strathmore Watercolor Paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Using my MISTI, I was able to position the Holly Basket perfectly and get a crisp image !!
  • I stamped the Dec. 25 onto a scrap piece of wood-grain paper and punched it out with a 1 3/8" square paper punch.
  • The stamped scene was colored with a selection of my favorite Brea Reese markers and Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens.
  • 6 1" circles were paper-punched from a "Pinecone Lodge" Recollections Paper pad. This would also be a great way to use up some of those scraps that you have stashed away !!
  • I overlapped the circles across the bottom of the mantel and attached them with a piece of coordinating red washi tape. .
  • Using American Crafts Foam Tabs, I attached the sentiment to the stamped scene.
  • Several red candy dots were placed on the stamped scene and on the sentiment for a bit of shine.
  • I adhered the stamped scene to a slightly larger piece of green glitter paper using my Scotch ATG gun.  I then adhered that to a bright red striped card base ( my guy Brian said it looked like a candy cane - PERFECT !! )

I hope that my card inspired you . For more Christmas in August projects, please check out my teammate's blo. I'm sure they will be fabulous !!

Please take a moment to visit each of our blogs and leave comments to let us know what you think of our projects !! We would also love it if you would follow our blogs and Instagram pages.
