Nurses Are Angels
One of the new release stamps from Technique Junkies for February is Nurses Are Angels . I have been an RN since 1984 and spent most of my career in Intensive Care Units. I absolutely loved taking care of my patients and also their families - it is a rewarding, challenging and many times heartbreaking profession. I'm no longer in direct patient care, now looking forward to retirement I certainly don't see myself as an angel - I just hope that the care I've given to others has made a positive impact and made a scary situation a little less traumatic for my patients and their loved ones..
- I stamped the Nurses Are Angels image on white mixed-media paper with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and Catherine Pooler Peppermint Scrub ink .
- The stamped image was die-cut with a square scalloped die.
- I adhered a piece of pink polka-dot patterned paper to a white card base.
- A strip of paper was trimmed from a piece of patterned paper and adhered at the bottom of the polka-dot paper as a border.
- Red rhinestones were placed in the center of every other flower on the border.
- The completed stamped image was adhered to the card with foam tabs.

Sisters
I grew up in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania . I had one brother who was 6 years older than me. My mother had 9 brothers and sisters, so there were lots of cousins who lived nearby that I saw quite often. My best friend was from a large Italian family too - she had 9 younger brothers and sisters. But I always wished for a sister of my own ; had a picture in my head of a wonderful relationship with someone who just would get me, love me and my quirky side no matter what .. When I saw this Sister Therapy stamp from the latest Technique Junkies Release, it took me back to my childhood when I wanted to have a sister so very badly !! And I could also hear my mom's voice telling me - "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it ." LOL I made this card for my friend Xenia to send to her sister in New York . I asked her their favorite colors ( black and gray !!! ) . And then I also used my favorite color - RED . I hope they both like it as much as I enjoyed making it.
- I stamped the Sister Therapy image with 3 colors of Memento ink - Black Tuxedo, Gray Flannel and Lady Bug - on white Mixed-Media paper.
- I cut a piece of red patterned paper to fit an A2 card and adhered it to a pink card base.
- The Sister Therapy image was die-cut with a Rectangle Swirl die.
- I cut a strip of black patterned paper to fit lengthwise down the red paper and adhered it to the left side of the card.
- The Sisters image was popped up on the card base with foam tabs.
- Small red pearls were placed on the strip of black paper.

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / January 2024
Celeste and I are starting off 2024 with a guest for our January post. Maria Batan loves to play with paper as much as we do and we are so happy to have her join us this month !! We have a sketch for our inspiration . I am not the biggest fan of sketch challenges so a great BIG thank you to Celeste for getting me out of my comfort zone !!!
I was lucky enough to find a sheet of clearance patterned paper that was perfect for this challenge . It's by Bo Bunny - Willow & Sage Stripe. The paper is double-sided which definitely came in handy for this card !!
- I cut the Bo Bunny paper to create a panel for a 5x7 white card base and adhered it - striped side up - to the front.
- The tan floral, blue dotted and ledger paper were all scraps in my stash. I made strips from the tan and dotted papers and placed them side by side on top of the striped base .
- The back of the striped paper was the pink branch design. I cut a piece and adhered it over the 2 long strips.
- The ledger scrap was trimmed into a banner and adhered on top of the pink branch paper .
- The My Sentiments Exactly - Dragonfly was stamped with Nautical Blue Memento ink on Tan Mixed Media paper .
- I used a Pierced Chain Circle die to cut the dragonfly.
- The dragonfly was popped up on the pink branch paper with foam tabs.
- A Tim Holtz Heirloom Floral blue flower was placed at the bottom right side of the circle diecut .
