Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste 7/29

I hope you are all enjoying your summer and finding time to be creative !! Celeste and I are back with our blog collaboration and this time we are having a unicorn challenge. Who doesn't just love these magical creatures ?!?!?! There are so many amazing stamps, dies, stickers, etc.. that are all unicorn-related. I even just bought a whole book of planner stickers that have dozens of unicorn stickers !! For my card, I used a fun stamp/die set from Close To My Heart . Little Dreamer  includes a stamp set + 4 metal dies and is SO much fun to work with !!

  • On a powder blue card base, I applied my favorite grass washi along the bottom of the card.
  • I stamped all of the elements onto Neenah Stardust White cardstock . First I stamped the unicorn with Stampin' Up  BLUSHING BRIDE ink . I then stamped his nose with Hero Arts Ombre' PINK TO RED ink .
  • The unicorn was then cut out using the thin die included with this set. I found it easier to stamp the mane, tail and horn after it was cut.
  • The mane was stamped with Ranger Adirondack Earthtones STREAM ink , the tail with Ranger Adirondack Lights JUNIPER ink and the horn with Ranger Distress Oxide FOSSILIZED AMBER.
  • I adhered the unicorn, flowers, stars and heart to the card base with Tombow MONO Aqua Liquid Glue .The flowers, stars and heart are all from a Little Dreamers Complement kit that matches the stamp/die set.
  • The sentiment was also stamped with STREAM  ink and then adhered to the top left side of the card base using Tombow Foam Tabs for added dimension.

This was a whimsical, fun card to make and I can't wait to see what Celeste comes up with . You can  check out her project here at her blog, Crafting Junky. We look forward to seeing you back here next month. My birthday is August 14 and I have some fun giveaways planned for the entire month.

The coffee I'm drinking this time is Pecan Praline and the mug I'm using is courtesy of mu guy, Brian. Last weekend we attended his 30th high school reunion in North Carolina. It was a combination 1987,1988 and 1989 reunion. These coffee cups were made for the 20th  and specifically for the Class of 1988. But I did get creative with  sticker and made the 1988 into a 1987 on the opposite side of the mug !! LOL  You know I'm a coffee cup fanatic so I was thrilled to get one of these  !!

Thanks so very much for checking out our blog collaboration again. We hope you enjoyed our fun unicorn theme. Stay tuned for our next get-together in August !!

Christmas with Anthony's Paper Craft

It's absolutely no secret that I have a bit of an obsession with washi tape !! So I wanted to make some cards that incorporated my love of washi with a new favorite holiday stamp of mine from Anthony's Paper Craft.  The Candles & Pine stamp was perfect to pair with some of my washi collection to make some quick holiday cards.

 Yuletide Greetings & Festive Yuletide

  • I stamped the Candles & Pine image onto Kraft cardstock and Neenah Stardust White cardstock using Memento "Espresso Truffle" ink.
  • Using my Brea Reese markers, I colored the stamped images.
  • I placed strips of holiday washi tape lengthwise on 2 card bases - one pale green and the other pale pink.
  • I centered the washi and used 6 different designs on each card.
  • On the bottom right corner of each card, I placed Tim Holtz Idea-ology Seasonal stickers.
  • The stamped images were adhered to the washi background using Stampin' Up foam tabs.
  • Several sequins were placed on each stamped image.

I got several holiday-themed tubes of washi last year after Christmas and I'm determined to use much of it this holiday season !! I hope these cards gave you some ideas . There are many great holiday stamps over at Anthony's Paper Craft and I hope you will check them out.

Have you started your holiday cards yet?? How many do you make ?? Do you make 1 design or several different cards ?? I'd love to hear your ideas for Christmas 2018.

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity !!

July Cookies - Take 2

It's a tropical theme on our Challenge Blog at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie for the next 2 weeks and our sponsor this time is Lemon Shortbread.  They have some fantastic digis and coloring pages in their Etsy shop !! The inspiration for this challenge certainly got me in  a tropical mood.

I used a fun stamp set from Bombshell Stamps . They have the best vintage/retro designs  and I definitely had the perfect set for this challenge !!

  • On a piece of Neenah Stardust White cardstock, I stamped the palm tree , hula girl, tropical flower and Mahalo to create a scene, using  Memories India Black ink.
  • I also stamped several starfish and shells on the same cardstock with the same ink. The stamp are all from the Bombshell Stamps set Hula Girl .
  • The images were colored with my Akashiya SAI Brush Markers .
  • I fussy-cut the shells and adhered them near the palm tree using foam tabs and MONO Aqua Liquid Glue - both from Tombow.
  • A piece of tropical patterned paper from an Authentique "Utopia" paper pad was adhered to the left side of a Kraft card base.
  • I adhered the tropical scene to the right side of the card, leaving the patterned paper showing on the left side. A Tombow MONO Adhesive+ Permanent runner was used.
  • A piece of thin gold washi and a piece of pink striped washi were placed lengthwise down the edge of the tropical scene.
  • A bit of fine glitter was used for the pearl to add a bit of shimmer.

I was very happy with how this card turned out !! It was really a fun card to color !! I'm sure my teammates have created some fun projects that you can check out HERE on the Challenge Blog. Pull out your tropical stamps, paper etc. and link a project up before August 9. You just might win some fabulous digis from our sponsor Lemon Shortbread.

I'm so glad you visited Meticulosity to check out this Challenge.

July Cookies- Take 1

Lions and tigers and bears  -- Oh my !! It's time for another Challenge over at the If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Challenge Blog . And our first challenge for this month is all about cute little animals. I can't wait to see what my teammates have come up with !! Our sponsor this time is All Dressed Up and if you link up a project by July 25, you just might win a nice prize..  Isn't this just the cutest inspiration photo ?!?!?!

I used a digi from our sponsor, All Dressed Up and absolutely fell in love with this little giraffe !!

  • I printed the digi Head in the Clouds on Neenah Stardust White cardstock.  I also printed it on a piece of yellow polka-dotted scrap paper from my scrap drawer  and fussy-cut the giraffe from that paper.
  • The patterned giraffe was adhered to the cardstock giraffe, using my favorite Tombow MONO Adhesive+.
  • I colored the words and circles on the giraffe using my Brea Reese markers.
  • The stamped image was adhered to a polka-dotted card base, again with Tombow MONO Adhesive+ .
  • A strip of colored rhinestones adds a bit of shimmer at the giraffe's neck.
I'm sure my teammates have created some fabulous projects from this challenge's fun inspiration photo. Take a look for their creations over at the Challenge Blog page.  I'd love for you to link up a project for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor All Dressed Up .You have until July 25.

Christmas in July with APC

I have always loved Christmas & crafty Christmas supplies are no exception !! It's never too early to start on Christmas cards, so I am bringing you some early holiday cheer with my first cards as a member of the Design Team for Anthony's Paper Craft. I hope my cards will inspire you to check out Anthony's wonderful collection of stamps. My first 2 cards have a vintage look and combine some favorite APC stamps with a much-loved ( and hoarded ) Tim Holtz paper pad !!

  • On a scrap piece of text paper, I stamped 4 ornament images from the Anthony's Paper Craft stamp set Ornament Set 1 with Memories India Black Ink
  • I also stamped the ornaments on 2 card-sized pieces of very pale pink paper from the Tim Holtz Holidays Past paper pad . I positioned the ornaments side by side/ one a bit lower than the other,  leaving room at the top and bottom of the paper for my sentiment and banners.
  • Using StazOn Midi Ink Pads in Emerald City, St. Valentine, Blue Hawaii and Jet Black, I stamped the 4 scenes from Ornament Set 2 onto the 4 text ornaments and then fussy-cut  ONLY the ornaments ( not the ornament top or bow ).
  • The sentiments - also by Anthony's Paper Craft  - were stamped on a green piece of paper, also from the Holidays Past paper pad, using Emerald City StazOn. They were then cut to fit on the cards.
  • I made several long and short banner flags for the cards. The smaller ones were made with a paper punch and the larger ones were cut by me to fit the spaces.
  • I colored the ornament tops and bows with some Brea Reese and Tim Holtz Distress markers.
  • All elements were adhered using a combination of Tombow adhesives - MONO Adhesive+ runner, MONO Aqua Liquid Glue and Foam Tabs. The foam tabs were used to pop up the sentiments.
  • The text ornaments were adhered over the stamped images on the background paper. Short banners were placed at the top left of each card and a longer banner at the bottom left. The sentiments were each placed at the top right.
  • A piece of Maya Road "Sweet Candy" twine was tied around the top of the banner on the Seasons Greetings card.
  • On a ledger card base from DCWV Vintage Collector, I adhered the  Seasons Greetings card and the Happy Holidays card is on a white base.

I love the vintage look of these cards and the stamps by Anthony's Paper Craft were perfect. I'm excited to be a part of this Design Team and can't wait to show you more Christmas in July projects throughout the month !! Anthony will be in my area in October for a stamp show and I look forward to meeting him in person. I will give you more information about that in another post. I might even be teaching a Make & Take at the show !! Thank you to Anthony for giving me this opportunity to work with his stamps . I look forward to working with all of the other DT members. Shout-out to Michael Trent who introduced me to Anthony's Paper Craft. He is also on the APC DT and can be found at World of Michael Trent .
