GIU Day 4 - Things Work Out

Cannot believe it is Day 4 for me as the GIU gal. Today's card was made with a stamp designed by Stephanie Ackerman. She has the greatest sayings paired with fabulous designs that are a dream to color. Today's project uses the stamped image Ultimately ...Things Work Out. Sounds like something my mom would have said... Attitude can make or break you.. I wanted this to be a bright, cheery card so my amazing washi from Artsyville was the perfect way to border the entire design. And who could resist those fun ribbons at the top of the card. I took the picture of this card with the supplies surrounding it on my desk to depict "messy".. Because life IS messy. And all we can do to get through it sometimes - in order to keep our sanity - is to make the best of the messy parts. This card will hang in my Creative Space to help me deal with some recent issues.. It will also remind me to reach out to friends to help them make the best of theirs...

Supplies that I used for this card are :
1. Artsyville washi tape ( currently not available but she'll be back !! )
2. Stabilo pens ( regular & neon )
3. Tim Holtz Distress markers ( can you tell these are one of my favorite supplies?? )
4. Faber Castell Neon Brush pens
5. Stampin' Up Flirty ribbon
6. American Crafts Dear Lizzy "Lively" ribbon

Remember to comment on my blog post each day during this week for a chance to win a Grab Bag of 25 Unity stamps. I am thrilled at all of the comments you all are making on my blog and on Facebook. I love being creative and showing my projects, and all of you inspire me to be better !!

A better view of my beautiful mess...

Coffee Will Fix Everything

It's that time again for another Blog Hop -- this time it is the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. A big shout-out to Amy Tsuruta and Chaitali Narla for hosting this and doing such a great job. There are awesome sponsors and chances at great prizes for linking up a project. The blog post is at this link -- Have fun either linking up or checking out those who do --- http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/2015/05/get-ready-for-the-summer-coffee-lovers-blog-hop/

My first card epitomizes SUMMER to me. A big beach bag ( preferably filled with summer books ) and a coffee from the Starbucks right near the Boardwalk here in Virginia Beach .. I hope you like the card !! These Die-Versions dies are amazing .. And when you place a piece of wax paper between the die and your cardstock, all those little pieces are SO much easier to get out !!

Supplies : Die-Versions 'Beach Bag" Whispers die , DCWV Summer Adhesive ribbon, Stampin' Up "Freshly Brewed" coffee cup, Vera Lane Studio Coffee sentiment Digi-stamp, Map magnet embellishment, glitter heart on coffee stirrer

Coffee, Tea or ......... COCOA

This card is for all you cocoa lovers.. I am sure there are many of you out there sipping your hot cocoa and hoping for Spring or at least a little bit of a thaw !!  The stamp is Marshmallow Friends by Inky Antics. I paper-pieced the mug using the Basic Grey "Out of Print" collection..Bright spring colors completed the card using some Stampin' Up ribbon, a Making Memories glittered flower and a Queen & Company turquoise Goosebump. The marshmallows were highlighted using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush..

Thanks to everyone who visited the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop !! And especially to all of you  who came here to see my cards. I'm excited that I made coffee, tea AND cocoa cards this time around !! And the Spring theme got me out of my winter/snow/ice frame of mind.. Leave a comment here for a chance at some Spring goodies.. And thanks again for supporting me and my creativity !!

You Belong in a Zoo !!

"Let's all make an animal card", she said ..... "Just for fun"..... And that's how it started.. One of my fellow Design Team members at Mountain Plains Crafters threw it out there and we ran with it... We got a squirrel, a wolf, some kitties, an owl and some hedgehogs. The MPC blog now has its own zoo of cuddly critters -  plus one wolf, thanks to DT member MariLynn !! I always love seeing the variety of cards we come up with. I feel blessed everyday to have met such an amazing group of women.. Check out all of our critters here.

I got out a new stamp, my colored pencils, some blender pens, ribbon and twine and my Critter creation was born.. You gotta love this stamp-- I had fun doing some paper-piecing and then even added some rhinestones to the polka-dots on the card as a finishing touch. What are some of your favorite critters to stamp ?? I hope this inspires you to pull those stamps out and get creative..

Supplies : Stampin' Up " A Little Smile" stamp 2Berry Creative Baker's twine,
rhinestones, My Mind's Eye card base, Derwent Inktense watercolor  & Metallic colored pencils, Stampin' Up Blender pen, Offray Hedgehog ribbon
