Today for Day 2 as the GIU gal, I chose a stamp designed by Lisa Arana. I especially LOVE her flower stamps that look like doodles. I decided to use a wooden embroidery hoop because I have seen such cute projects using these and also because I have tons of them left over from my days of doing counted cross-stitch !! My neighbor Bev's crepe myrtle tree was the perfect place to hang the finished project.. It was a beautiful, sunny day.
The supplies I used are as follows :
3. Stabilo Pens
4. Colored Rhinestsones
6.Tim Holtz "Script" Embossing folder - heart made with embossed paper
Thank you for visiting today. Comment each day for a chance to win a grab bag full of 25 Unity stamps... I appreciate all of the wonderful comments that I received for my first GIU day. Thank you to all who commented.. Looking forward to tomorrow when my project will also be featured on the Unity Stamp Company blog..
Fun project! I love the embroidery hoop as a frame, and also love Lisa's fun flower designs!
ReplyDeleteI've already placed 2 orders with Unity Stamp after finding out about them From you!! Can't wait to try the stamps and I ordered some sayings that are wall art too!!
ReplyDeleteI had a stack of hoops that I gave to a friend. I think I may have some stitching paper that I can use in the one hoop I've found. This is a great idea. If you don't tack the sentiment down permanently it could be removed and replaced when you get tired of it. The problem with cleaning is - you always get rid of the things you are going to need. Just don't know it at the time. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletewow.. this looks so so cool. i love the use of the cross stitch hoop. It gives the whole project a new dimension. its gorgeous. So much to learn for a newbie like me who has just started on her stamping journey.. love it totally :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful project! Love your stamp selection, those flowers looks very pretty in summery colors. A really great idea to use embroidery hoops too! My mum is into embroidery and there are hoops at home so I will definitely give this a try. (I don't think she will worry if a few hoops go missing!) ^__^
