Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste 2/12

Back again for our February Blog Collaboration -- just in time for Valentine's Day.  Red, hearts, flowers, Cupid with arrows.. There are so many fun images and designs that are perfect for Feb. 14. So, what did I do ?? Of course, I decided to be different and come up with something completely non-traditional. Not much red, no big hearts and strangely enough, NO stamping !! I was talking to a friend who has young children and she was wondering what she could make without a ton of  "artsy" supplies. So I put my thinking cap on and noticed my new band-aids from Target $ Spot. And then this idea came to mind. This would be a cute card to make with your children. You could write the sentiment or stamp one. I just happened to use my DYMO Caption Maker.

  • I used a striped card base and placed a strip of green glitter washi down the R side / portrait position.
  • On a MAMBI Pocket card, I placed 3 band-aids vertically, side by side.
  • The "Stuck on You" caption was made  with my DYMO caption maker. My guy and I love the Sugarland song "Stuck Like Glue" and this card is based on that. I sent the card off to him in the mail this morning.
This month, Becky Ledbetter is joining us. Becky makes cards, she sews, she knits and crochets, she scraps. I hope you will check out her project on her new blog This Chick's Challenge.  And 0nce again, Celeste has another amazing card to show you this month. Check it out at Crafting Junky. As always, we hope that you will sign up to follow our blogs as we create our way through 2017.

This month's blog post was brought to you by one of my favorite Starbucks cups - and it is perfect for Valentine's Day. I have had it since 2010.  I am drinking Caramel Apple Bread Pudding coffee and it is absolutely yummy !! Who comes up with these coffee ideas ??? And just because I love Valentine's Day so much and hearts, hearts, hearts, I also made a tag and an ATC with the cutest stamp set by Lisa Arana with Unity Stamp Company - Aw Shucks, Lulu. I paper punched a heart out of a sheet of cardstock to use as a stencil.  Victorian Velvet Distress Ink was used to create the hearts. A bit of washi, some twine and several Tim Holtz Ideology words completed both projects.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit Meticulosity. I very much appreciate it. I hope we have inspired you to get creative. Who knows ?? You just might pull out that box of colorful band-aids and come up with something !! See you next month !!
