Obsessive Coffee Disorder

Another day, another card for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I have linked up a card every day so far  and for  today's card, I'll be combining my love of coffee and letter-writing ( namely, mailing letters ). I found some amazing 3 cent coffee pot stamps while searching the USPS website one day. Now, I rarely have a use for 3 cent stamps but I figured I could use them on heavier envelopes or when I'm making cards. They are a lovely antique coffee pot and I think they were perfect for this card !!

  • I cut a scrap piece of ledger-patterned paper and adhered it to a kraft card base.
  • For my main image, I used the Coffee 1 images from Anthony's Paper Craft. I love these images - they appear very vintage and the lettering is amazing. They were stamped with Memories India Black Ink.
  • I adhered the patterned paper to the kraft base using Tombow MONO Adhesive+.
  • 3 coffee-pot stamps were placed down the left side of the patterned paper. I left the backing on the stamps so they could be peeled off and used by the recipient.
  • Across the upper right side of the card, I adhered 4 small gold banners.
  • I tied a piece of Maya Road twine cording across the top of the card.
  • The card is displayed on a piece of paper from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology "Correspondence" paper pad. It is a Parcel Post Rate page.

Thanks again to everyone for visiting Meticulosity to see all of my Coffee cards this week. I always have an amazing time with this Hop and have to give a shout-out to Amy Tsuruta for being the fabulous host of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop !!  Check out the many wonderful projects over at the Hop !! And be sure to comment on this post for a chance to win some blog candy from me.

May Cookies - Take 3

How lucky are we that we get to have 3 helpings of cookies in May !! The more cookies the better !! Our Challenge this time is all about graduation and gold.. It is that time of year when our children, friends and family members graduate and move on to the next phase in their lives. I did not have any specific graduation stamps but as you all know, that has never stopped a stamper from creating a card!! This is our inspiration picture for the next 2 weeks and our sponsor is Imagine That Digistamp. They will be providing a prize to one lucky person who links up a card .

I made my card for a co-worker who recently obtained her BSN while working full time at the hospital and taking care of her family. No small feat !! I made it a bit flowery but also stayed with a simple gold theme for the stamped image. I hope you like it !!

  • I stamped the typewriter from the Stampendous "Floral Typewriter" set onto a piece of watercolor paper, using Memories India Black Ink. The bravo stamp is by Stampin' Up.
  • I trimmed the image and then matted it with some gold glitter paper, leaving just a small area of the glitter showing around the edges.
  • I adhered the stamped image to a floral wood-designed card base with Tombow adhesive.
  • Using a gold Kaisercraft Glitter gel pen, I highlighted some areas of the typewriter and the flowers.
Check out the projects by my teammate's here. And head over to the Imagine That page and look at all of their fantastic digis !! I appreciate you taking the time to visit Meticulosity. Comment on my Coffee Blog Hop posts for a chance to win some blog candy !!

These Are The Days

I've been having so much fun this week  with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and my blog collaboration with Celeste and also the Challenge Blog If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. I've enjoyed seeing everyone else's creations too !! Today, I combined my love of cards and coffee with my love of planners  - to be more exact, my love of planner stickers !! This card  is perfect for today's link-up in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

This card shows how just one stamp and a few stickers can help you create a beautiful card.  Not alot of coloring or embellishments. Simple... I send lots of snail mail and sometimes even type letters with my vintage Hermes Rocket Typewriter, so this card is absolutely perfect for ME !!

Please take a moment to comment here as I am having a blog candy giveaway for 1 lucky person.  I hope you will also sign up to follow my blog. Check out the other link-ups for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop too.

Unicorn Coffee ?? Why, Yes Please !!

I am totally 100% smitten with this teeny unicorn face. I want to stamp it everywhere !! So, today is Day 5 of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and I couldn't wait any longer ! I had to finally use this stamp on a card .. You've got to admit -- it is just the sweetest !! Even if you aren't a fan of unicorns.. And believe me, I am NOT a unicorn fanatic or unicorn obsessed - but this little face got to me !! You can tell by the number of exclamation points I am using ... And I did just happen to have some too cute unicorn washi, so this card happened :

  • I stamped the coffee cup from Stamplorations " Winter Mug " with Memories India Black ink onto a piece of Neenah Stardust White cardstock.
  • I fussy-cut the coffee cup and adhered it to the lower right side of a Mollie & Rex watercolored card base, using Tombow MONO Adhesive+ .
  • The coffee, cup rim and handle were colored with Prismacolor pencils .
  • The unicorn face from savvystamps.com was stamped onto the cup, also using Memories India black ink.
  • The face was colored with a combination of Sharpies and Kaisercraft gel pens  ( glitter and metallic ).
  • Several designs of washi tape by Recollections were placed along the left side and top of the card .
  • Tim Holtz Ideaology " Small Talk " sentiment was placed above the coffee cup.

I'm linking this card up to the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. There are almost 900 projects linked up already and the inspiration is endless !! Please comment on my card for a chance at some blog candy. And thank you for visiting Meticulosity.

Coffee Talk

Day 4 of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is here and today I'm using a fun stamp from one of my favorite companies -Rubber Moon. They have a great selection of stamps and art supplies and the most amazing customer service ever !! I love their variety of stamps - from celestial to quirky to cute birds and everything in between. You have to check them out !! They are also having a Memorial Day sale that runs through today, May 28. I love that they give you the option of cling or wood-mounted stamps. I am a stamper from way back and although wood-mounted take up more space, there are just some stamps that I want to have displayed for inspiration 24/7 !!

There's nothing I love better than hanging out at the bookstore or coffee shop, either alone or with a friend. Sometimes you just need to catch up with friends and chit-chat over coffee. And that's why I love this  Rubber Moon stamp - Let's Talk designed by Jane Cather. I'm meeting a friend for coffee today and will be taking her one of these cards. I hope you are inspired to spend some time with a friend soon and enjoy a bit of coffee talk !!

Let's Talk

  • On a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper, I stamped the Let's Talk image using Memories India Black ink .
  • I colored in the image with some favorite markers - Sharpies, Faber-Castell & Brea Reese.
  • A few clouds  were paper-punched from scrap paper and stapled to the stamped image.
  • I adhered the stamped image to a scrap piece of pale green checked paper, then attached that to the front of a bright pink card base. All adhesive used is by Tombow
  • I'm very proud that I used some of my hoarded coffee washi tape below the stamped image. These are from a collection I got on clearance at AC Moore,
  • The image on this card was perfect for bright shades and it's so much fun to color . I'm sad I don't have a few hats like  these to take with me today when I meet my friend for coffee !!

I hope you're enjoying my posts for the Blog Hop. I'm giving away some blog candy so be sure to leave a comment. There are already 600 cards linked up in the Hop , so head on over to take a look and be inspired !! Thank you for visiting Meticulosity !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste - 5/27

Here we are at the end of May and it's time for Celeste and I to share another card . Celeste came up with the idea to use stickers and I loved it !! I have loved stickers since I was very young and can remember making my own stationary. All you need is plain paper and stickers - the rest is up to your imagination !! And I have to admit that I still have a quite large sticker collection but don't use them nearly as much as I could . And lucky for us, we are on Day 3 of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so we are making a coffee card that incorporates the use of stickers .

Our guest is our friend Michael Trent . He has joined us before but since he is as coffee-obsessed as we are, it was perfect to invite him back for this collaboration !! You can find him at World of Michael Trent.  His cards and coloring are beyond amazing, he makes beautiful mini-albums and you can catch his videos on You Tube !!

I have been wanting to use some cute cactus stickers that I recently purchased, so this was the perfect opportunity. The challenge was using them in a coffee card, but I think I came up with a fun idea. What do you think ???

 Wild and Free

  • On a cream cardstock base, I adhered a piece of peachy-pink MAMBI paper, leaving a slight margin around the edges. This paper has glitter highlights and I cut the paper so they would be in the upper left corner. They also matched the stickers !!
  • Using Memories India Black Ink, I stamped the coffee cup image from Stamploration " Winter Mug - the Bee's Knees " onto a piece of blue raindrop patterned paper from Hobby Lobby and also on some plain white cardstock.
  • I fussy cut the cups and adhered the cardstock behind the patterned paper to make it a bit firmer.
  • I colored the coffee and back rim of the cup that was stamped on the white cardstock, using  Prismacolor pencils .
  • The 2 cactus stickers were positioned on the cardstock cup and I then placed the patterned paper cup on top of that. I had cut the coffee/back rim area off of that cup so the cactus  would show through.
  • Because the cactus stickers were foam backed and raised up off the card, foam tabs were used to position the patterned cup image.
  • The Wild and Free sticker & gold glitter arrows were placed to the left of the coffee cup. The sticker pack was by Momenta
  • An orange rhinestone created a bit of shimmer in the flower on the cactus in the cup.
  • All adhesives used were Tombow - a Mono Adhesive+  runner and foam tabs.

I can't wait to see what Celeste and Michael come up with for this collaboration.. I'm glad we got to share these posts during the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Take a look at Celeste's card over at Crafting Junky  and Michael's at World of Michael Trent . Remember that I am giving away some blog candy to someone who comments on my posts for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. The more posts you comment on, the more chances you have to win.  I am hoping to post a card each day during the Hop.

For my coffee this time, I'm using a fun Starbucks mermaid travel mug and drinking some Sugar-Dusted Beignet coffee from Community Coffee, You should check them out - their coffee really is out of this world !!

My desk - my bliss

Thank you for stopping by Meticulosity today. I hope you enjoyed this May collaboration and I look forward to another in June. Thanks to Michael for playing again - we love having you !!

This Coffee Lovers Hop is definitely a favorite !! I am hoping to post something everyday during the Hop - from May 25  to June 1 - and will highlight some of my favorite company's stamps.

  • I printed the images on Neenah Stardust White cardstock and also on a piece of cloud paper ( the window image ).
  • I fussy cut the window, the sky images and the coffee cup.
  • Using Tombow adhesives, I adhered a piece of  Echo Park "Party Time" paper to a sky blue cardstock base.
  • I colored the window and coffee cup with a variety of my favorite markers .
  • The sky areas of the window were adhered and then the entire window was placed in the lower right corner of the card.
  • I placed some brown glitter on the coffee cup and then popped the image up on the windowsill with Tombow foam tabs.
  • A sentiment from Tim Holtz Small Talk "Occasion" was placed on the upper left side of the card.

4 Years of Meticulosity - the 2nd post

Thank you to everyone who visited and/or commented on my previous blog post celebrating my 4th anniversary as a blogger !! Today I have some cards that showcase a favorite new line of supplies - "Crafty Girl" from Simple Stories . They have coordinating paper, washi, stickers, and die cuts. And I LOVE all of it !!  Sometimes I want to make a quick card without getting out my stamps and inks and this line is perfect for that . The blend of crafty designs with flowers is a fun combination to work with.

I'm having a giveaway for my anniversary and plan to choose 2 winners from those who comment on my anniversary blog posts this week. One prize will be papercrafter's supplies and the other will be Happy Mail / stationery goodies. I love sending snail mail and many of the cards, postcards etc. that I make find their way to my Snail Mail friends.

All of the supplies for these cards are from the Crafty Girl line, except for a few rhinestones and the cardstock bases. Tombow Adhesives  were used to adhere all elements. I  actually made all 3 of these cards in 45 minutes - right before typing this post AND while my new kitten was napping !! She succeeded in knocking several things off my desk as I was preparing to make these cards, so I was  lucky that she decided it was time for a nap after a long morning of acting crazy and bird/squirrel watching !!

Eat. Sleep. Craft. Repeat

Crafty and Happy

Makers Gonna Make

Tomorrow is the start of the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop so look for 1 more anniversary post with a coffee theme. Thanks again for all of your support, kindness  and comments these past 4 years. I've met some amazing people through my love of papercrafting, Snail Mail and blogging . Many are now my friends !! So it's nice to be able to celebrate with all of you .. Remember to comment for a chance at some fun supplies chosen by me.

4 Years of Meticulosity - #1

It's so hard for me to believe that I have been blogging for 4 years now. May 19, 2014 was my very first blog post and the rest is history. I have learned alot, met many creative people ( some who are now good friends ) and have been a part of several design teams. I have always been a lover of paper and my love of card-making has also been a part of my love of snail mail. I am in several swap groups for Happy Mail   -  a Coffee Lovers card swap, the Love Notes postcard project and the Global Postcard heART Swap. April was National Letter Writing Month and I was in a fabulous group hosted by Lindsay Ostrom. She assigned  me a penpal for the month and  I also sent mail to approximately 50 others in the group !!

I want to thank everyone for your support of my creative side. Your visits to my blog and comments have really been a wonderful part of these past 4 years. So I want to share my anniversary celebration with all of you and have a fun giveaway !!  Because so much of my creativity is tied into my love of Happy Mail, I will have 2 giveaways. One will be papercraft focused and the other will be Happy Mail / stationary focused. All you have to do is comment on any of my Anniversary posts this week and you will be entered into the drawing for a prize. The prizes will be a variety of my favorite things from some of my favorite companies. No one has donated anything - these are all coming from my heart !!

A few quick cards made for this post combine my love of cardmaking with my love of snail mail. And these snail digi stamps from Vera Lane Studio are just the perfect images to use !!

  • I printed the cute snails from the Snails Pace set from Vera Lane Studio on my favorite Neenah Stardust White cardstock.
  • I also printed the images on a floral paper and a heart paper and cut out the shells to paper-piece on the snails.
  • Some of my favorite markers were used to color the snails and shells - Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens, Sharpies, Ranger  Distress and Stampin' Up markers.
  • The snails were then adhered to some of my favorite card bases using Tombow adhesives - both an adhesive runner and my favorite MONO Aqua Liquid Glue.

Some of my favorite images to stamp are coffee and cats. And a favorite technique of mine is paper-piecing.  I am a paper, stamp, ink & washi junkie !!  And I LOVE  to color and watercolor !! I have enjoyed learning techniques from many of my online friends and hope I have inspired you to get creative too !!

Waffle Flower Flora Cats, Vera Lane Studio Girls on the Block
Hampton Art  Quiet the Worries

I hope that you will take a minute and leave a comment for a chance to win one of my prizes in celebration of my 4 years as a blogger. Tell me about a favorite company or technique of yours. Or let me know if I've inspired you. I couldn't have done this without all of you and your support. Please  sign up to follow me as I start my 5th year of Meticulosity !!

Thank you so much for visiting Meticulosity

May Cookies - Take 2

What an absolutely  perfect theme for our second May challenge over at IF YOU GIVE A CRAFTER A COOKIE. Brian and I recently adopted a sweet little kitten from the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center and she has really stolen our hearts. Well actually, she chose Brian and the rest is history !! We had to say good-bye to our much-loved Anna a year ago and I have not even wanted to think about getting another cat. But I was starting to feel like it was time to begin looking and Brian definitely  was ready. Sooooooooooooo  I thought the process would take awhile and give me time to really get used to the idea, but that's not exactly what happened.  The first day we looked, we saw a cute little white kitten named Maxine. Well, she wrapped Brian around her little paw and we now have had her almost 1 month.  She has the cutest little face and I thought she looked like a little pixie, so now we have our sweet Pixie Dust . And that is why this theme is perfect !! Our sponsor for this challenge is Beccy's Place - they have a fabulous variety of clear AND digi stamps. Several team members have used their digis for this challenge.

Pixie is the friendliest kitten ever and always so happy to see us when we come home from work or even just enter a room. She loves to roll around and really enjoys having her belly rubbed.  That inspired my card for this challenge !!

  • I placed a gold doily in the lower right corner of a Molly & Rex card base and trimmed the edges. These cards look like they are water-colored and are fabulous !! I got them on clearance at Michaels.
  • I stamped the cat image and sentiment on Neenah Stardust White cardstock using Memories India Black Ink . The stamps are from the Waffle Flower Flora Cat  stamp set. I fussy-cut the cat and trimmed around the sentiment.
  • The cat image was colored using a variety of my favorite markers - from my beloved Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens to the Sharpies I buy at the office supply store.
  • A piece of Recollections washi was placed at the bottom of the sentiment, which was then adhered to the lower right side of the card base on top of the doily. Tombow Mono Adhesive+ was used on the sentiment and the doily.
  • Tombow Foam Tabs popped up the cat image onto the upper left side of the sentiment.
  • A turquoise, pink, black and gold sequin were scattered on the front of the card to complete it and give it a bit of shimmer.
Take a look at my teammate's creations from this challenge's inspiration.  You can find them here.   Be sure to also look at Beccy's Place - they are providing a prize to one lucky person who links up a project for this challenge. I hope you will pull out your favorite dog/cat/pet stamp , get inspired and join us !!

And if you are ever looking for a pet, please remember to check out your local SPCA or Adoption Center. There are so many pets who need to be rescued to find their forever home. We are grateful for our little Pixie every day !!

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity !!

May Cookies - Take 1

It's time for our first challenge of May over at the If You Give a Crafter a Cookie Challenge Blog and this one is all about Fairies.  Our sponsor this month is A Day For Daisies and they have the sweetest variety of stamps, from fairies to books to flowers to mermaids. I hope you will take a look and maybe even be inspired to link up a project to this challenge. Someone who links up will be randomly chosen to win some digis from our sponsor.

I have always loved moon designs and was immediately drawn to the Talking With The Moon digi. I love to paper-piece and this digi really lent itself to that technique. I especially loved the pinks and blues in our inspiration cookie photo as you can tell in my finished card.

  • I  printed the image on Neenah Stardust White cardstock and trimmed it to keep a small edge around it.
  • Using my favorite Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens and some Distress Markers, I colored in all of the image except for the moon and the fairy's dress.
  • I love using scraps of paper ( that I call snibbles, which is what my mom called them ) . I also printed the image on a large enough scrap of yellow star paper and another of the blue floral paper in order to fussy-cut and paper-piece the moon and her dress.
  • I used an older MAMBI cardstock paper pad to find a piece of marbled paper with colors to match the digital image. I cut the marbled cardstock to leave a small edge around the image.
  • A piece of pale yellow cardstock was used as a card base to tie into the moon image.
  • Dazzling Diamonds Glitter  by Stampin' Up was used on the wings and several yellow stars  to add a bit of shimmer.
  • The word WANDER was found in my Memory Planning Sticker Book from MAMBI. I love to use planner goodies in my card designs.
  • This is one of those cards that you have a  rough idea for in your head  and are really pleased at how it turns out !!

I am sure that my teammate's have really done a fantastic job with this challenge . There were so  many great digis to choose from. You can check them all out here , where you will also find links to each member's blog. This challenge runs for 2 weeks and I hope you will link up a project - a card, planner page, tag or ATC. Whatever you are inspired to create from our amazing Fairy Cookie photo!!

Thank you for visiting Meticulosity for this first May Challenge.
